Here you go Chuck ET AL...

I went to the hydro shop and had them order me this so I can make an entire grow journal, that is going to be tested by myself aka yours truly.. And I will do a week by week analysis which will include plant height, leaf growth and stem measurement. I will detail the exact recipe of nutrients I will be feeding to each controlled plant. I am going to run 2 (1000w) lights growing 2 plants per light. I am going for this purpose to use the exact same formula I run using either:

AN 2 part jungle juice and only these additives: Big Bud - OverDrive - Bud Factor X and B52.
(OR)
Botanicare Pure Blend Pro
CalMag - HydroPlex - Silica - Vitamino - Liquid Karma

Both plants will get Great White beneficials and Cal Mag if needed. I have 4 (Chem Dog cuts from the same mother. Which I will place into 10 gallon containers after 2 weeks of veg and will be finished in those containers. I am using Sunshine Advanced (coco/peat) mix as the media for everyone convenience since it is easy and the most forigiving medium IMO.

Sometime next week I will start the thread and go week by week until they are finished. Once harvested, dried and cured... There will be a final weigh in with a video step by step of the process whenever I figure that part out. After the grow and test is completed I am going to have my friend take samples from each nutrient for a blind taste test with me and 2 of my buddies which I will show as submitted with no knowledge of which buds came from which nutrient line.

Finally I will have my buddy bring these samples to the dispensary/testing facility and label them both and submit them for analysis which I will take a video and open the results and post that on the thread as well. I am keeping an open mind and will do my absolute best to ensure the plants are grown properly and flower flawlessly to the best of my abilities and will wait the pending results and check out the final results amongst anyone on the RIU interested in my expriment.

So be on the look out sometime next week and I will begin the official thread: Dyna- Gro vs. Advanced Nutrients Chem Dog #4
Or Dyna-Gro vs Botanicare.. I will let you guys vote and decide which other nutrient you want me to use against it... Ill be looking forward to the responses and starting this project!!!

Also if anyone has a better recipe than the one I got from the owner of Dyna-Gro please include it here so I can figure out the bst approach to the feedings. The owner or he says he was I spoke with name was Dave I assume real name is David if anyone knows this to be true? He told me to use the Foliage Pro and Protekt from start to finish. Using the FP @1 to 1.5 tsp per gallon or approx. and to use a feed - feed - water routine in the drain to waste system with a target of 750-800 PPM. He said he advised using RO water (starting ppm less than 100). I have a triple staged RO which produces roughly 0-10 PPM once it is ran through my TDS meter.

On top of the FP I was directed to use the ProTekt @5ml to 10ml per gallon or as needed from start to finish at least once per week (recommended two times) He also recommended a once per month flush of the media to reduce potential salt build up and also advised to flush for the final 7-10 days of flowering before harvest to reduce contaminants and heavy metal content.

He also said that using the KLN was optional and he recommended using the Neem Oil as a foliar or root drench for maitenance purposes but neither was absolutely needed. So stay tuned I will put this argument to rest from my perspective and we will see how things stack up and grow... Im excited to see the results.

So please post what nutrient you want me to use against the DG and lets get this started up next week.
Great I can't wait to see the end results I wanted to do something like this myself but don't have the ability to.

i used bud factor x this year as well worked great and is awesome, but i have come to the conclusion that insect frass does the exact same thing plus extra benfits and is cheaper. the ultimate combo though for plant growth & health is ful-power,insect frass,Aloe powder 200x,vitazyme,coconut powder and kelp tea folair 1x a week. use these together and sit back and watch the leaves pray hard as fuck and plant health/growth will soar to another level.
How do you get the frass into a soluble form? I usually just top dress with it but after reading the website, its says to steep 1/4-1/2 Cup frass per gallon. Is this what you do before mixing everything and applying as a foliar? I would like to stop using it as a top dress for a more efficient way to apply it.

A true experiment is done multiple times to try to produce clear, repetitive data. All side by sides I have ever done was 3 total harvests, not just 1.

You already know how to use advanced in YOUR garden. While you have been giving a decent feeding schedule with Dyna, you'll still need to "dial it in" to YOUR garden.

Just something to keep in mind.

I used liquid carboload, bud candy, big bud and overdrive. They suck on big plants. Anything under 6 feet and an works good but a waste of money if your growing bigger plants.

They worked great on smaller plants I can't deny that but when I started growing bigger plants, I mean 2-3 x bigger than usual I wasn't seeing the same results. And then I got some guy toying with my head telling me that he's got a 2 part for veg and bloom. Almost sounds to good to be true. Sounds like a scam sending money in the mail or even PayPal. Has anybody had personal dealings with drew303fullsun? He's supposed to be a nutrient consultant.

Two whole pages of BULLSHIT.

Y'all are proving my hypothesis that the 'hydro' industry wants STUPID CUSTOMERS. Doesn't anyone here know a Damn thing about this science called chemistry?!

Plants want six major and fifteen odd micro nutrients. PERIOD. PGRs, fulvates, beneficial microbe husbandry all work in conjunction with AND SUBORDINATE TO THE uptake of the above nutrients, in salt form, because that's the only way the plant can absorb them.

I give no fucks about debating the above as it isn't conjecture, it's SETTLED AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE. So if you want to learn how to grow a plant worth thousands of dollars a pound, maybe it makes sense to LEARN SOME! And until you do, stop spreading inanities about how cool 'Big Mike' is and how you HAVE to use Bud Factor X.

I'm glad I found this thread, because I can answer the questions, both about what Bud Factor X is and exactly why it sells for $90.00;

First, the active ingredient in Bud Factor X is NOT chitosan. It's magnesium sulfate, aka epsom salt! You can and I just did get 8 lb bags of it at Wal-Mart for $5.47, or $34 for fifty pounds. I use 1.5g/gallon in both veg and bloom. Works bitchin' and some packages even come with instructions for use on your lawn- as a fertilizer! Go figure!

Second, here's why it sells; Because AN knows Damn good and well their best customers are STUPID ABOUT CHEMISTRY, they've built an entire alternate universe of pseudoscience surrounding basic plant nutrition. Kept in the dark and fed bullshit, these growers not only don't know how badly they're being ripped off, but often actively attempt to shout down experienced, educated professionals who try to suggest reason. This further muddies the waters for beginners and inexperienced hobbyists, creating fertile ground to keep finding suckers who'll shell out ninety hard earned bones for a quart of tapwater and a few cents' worth of bath salt.

Are ya pissed yet? GOOD! It gets better! I bet a lot of you guys reading this would cringe at the cost of a hundred gallon changeout of AN nutes. What if I told you it costs me roughly a dollar? And before anyone shit talks my second rate plants, look at the results;

Boys and girls, it's time to learn your CHEMISTRY!

Lol. Does chemistry give you all those yellow leaves?

That's right! It looks exactly like it should at the end of a nice, long eight weeks in bloomroom paradise. If yours looked this good, I bet you'd be showing them off here, too. BTW, that's going to be over 24 zips of some of the finest bubblegum available anywhere. And I can repeat this performance at will.

Funny, I've never seen any of YOUR plants. Chump.

It might be in there, but its only purpose is to fool the stupid.
cmon now, were both men of science here. while we agree epsom salts or magnesium sulfate is the main contributor to its effectiveness, chitosan has been known for years to offer gains as well.

I am in no way suggesting overpriced AN or chitosan for everybody for that matter, but it is interesting, no? I have used epsom salts for years and tried all the sweet products and chitosan definitely seemed to bump it up notch for me.. doesnt mean I still run it though

I run epsom salt and I get great flavors and aromas. No mag deficiencies, either.

I stand by my 'fool the stupid' statement. Why else would they put banana fragrance in a jar of MKP? So they can sell 8 ounce jars of it for SIXTY BUCKS?! My 50 POUND BAG cost me $78.00 and I'll probably never need it all.

I don't run epsom or chitosan and get great smells and flavors, so ??????????????
