Name My Auto Growing System

Hi

I am developing an open source automated garden system. Think of grobot but open source, less expensive and a few more features the only issue I have now is I don't know what to call it.

So, since this is a community project set to be released in april 2016, I am asking the community to name my new open source automated growing computer/project. I am having trouble finding a domain name that isn't taken or way out of my price range.

Thanks

Yes. Have too, its a personal requirement.

If you guys have any suggestions or features you would like to see, post them or pm and I will put them on my todo list.

then i can help u partly

i know where the components are ......the whole system is pretty weak ......it would take a complete software redesign and a whole new set of variables added

i been working on this idea in my head since i started ......but glad to share what i got just ask if it makes it big i get free stuff .....we cool

sweet

ok here it goes
https://www.bluelab.com/products/type/controllers/dosetronic-controller.aspx
this is the main controller ........the issue they erally have is they do not account for the varible of the feed ......u would need a program that understood all the possible feeds on the market
they do have something started
http://scienceinhydroponics.com/2013/02/the-first-free-hydroponic-nutrient-calculator-program-o.html

as for the feed system that is simple medical pump
https://www.bluelab.com/products/ph-controller
this is there controller .......but it would be better if it was hooked into a laptop allowing u to chart

feeding pumps same thing as PH
the issue i was having was the feeds need to be shaken before pumping .........and the extact content on each of the feeds

they done alot of the work

but they did not do the feed systems calibrations and u have to buy extras to do the computer when logically makes more sense to make a plug adapter for the back og a lap top and all the systems hook inot the computer for the controller

after that has been taken care of u need to plan a water system so it will flush out once a week the plants roots get flush off with clean water that drains out then the drains shut off fills back off the rez the computer adds in the feed mix to the plan u set into the mixing cells to spread out

if u can et the extact chemicals in all the feeds on the market then u can use the hydro buddy free source to make out a plan for the pumps to dump out

woah thats some cool shit.

if it also keeps a log including any error codes, fluctuations and or power outages or surges etc then i think 'Black Box' might be in order

if it also logged ppms used, ph fluctuations etc for the duration of the grow it not only would help you understand your growing environment better but would also help you to dial in any strain with incredible precision.

i really like this.

well that is not even half of it

u still have air controlls ....ac ...co2 enrichment ...air movement
i have seen this
http://smartbeecontrollers.com/about-smartbee/

the light system i have can work off a wireless signal so with a simple capturing of the commands the controller sends out the lap top can take that over too
same with the smart bee thing

Please, share and I'm sure we can work something out.
if u want someone to help with more of this i be glad to do it ........i find this fun but i lack the funds and the coding skills it would take to do this

in the end it would be a complete grow design ......with complete computer control allowing u to access on site or even off site

in the end it would only require ppl to replace the feed containers/ph containers /cut the plants start the new ones / come in when something is sick or needs repair

i was working on this for a remote grow house only needing me to access every 2 weeks

Black Box would be a good name for what I have been calling the base station that collects some of that stuff. I have been avoiding high powered applications so monitoring power for now is a little tricky. Hell of a good idea though and another excuse to revisit light management. I can turn lights on and off and detect if they ALL go out unexpectedly but it requires the use of commercially available high powered HID controllers.

I did this for a couple reasons.
- I don't want to get shocked again.
- I dont want to risk other people getting shocked
- I want people (and me) to be able to preserve as much of there old system as possible (less to buy, less to setup, less to wire).

@justugh The system is pretty much designed already and you don't have to have a dedicated laptop but I am going to steal some of those ideas - my current ph drip isnt as slimline as that other one just yet. Smartbee was one of the systems that started to give me some ideas like recharging sensors from the lights. I can do just about everything they can except detailed power management.

I like that name guys ill ask around and keep those new ideas coming too - what do you hate about your garden? Its setup now to where you really only have to go in there if you get a txt and/or email or see something through the cameras. Pest management is automated too.

I love owning gardens, I just hate working in them.

aslong as i earned my free unit if u get big

i was working on a rotation system for the DWC .....the plant would rotate in the bucket as the day went on so the plant would get even light all over .......honestlly it was pretty easy just need to use some cheesecloth to keep the roots safe....and the air stone line needs to come tho the lower part of the bucket but a simple wheel on the outside ball bearings on the top of the bucket under the lid

i got a really new one i am pretty sure it is possible but i need a lab to get the balance right ........but add a Centeral line to the plant (like a IV adding fluids) in a soil grow it should give it the weight like it does on hydro but safer like soil
