Diesel Generator Grow

Hi guys!

Im looking for someone who has grown mj with using Diesel Generators for electricity? We have 4 x 600w HPS and 2 x medium size generators. 1 generator can make 1200w electricity in full speed.

Questions! is it O.K to do grow this way?
Has anyone tryed it?

Well noise is not an issue! its very remote area.
My only concern is fuel indeed. So thats why i wondered if someone has made it and what was the price?

when I was building houses were used generators all the time, our 1200 watt generator went through about through about 3 gallons of diesel a day running it about seven ours. so i would guess that if you ran it 18 hours a day it would be around 8 gallons a day and like five gallons a day if you run 12/12. With gas prices by me that would be 32 dollars a day for veg and 20 dollars a day for flower thats a lot of money. Maybe your gen. is more efficient than the ones we used, but even if it were twice as efficient your still talking 16 dollars or 10 dollars a day which is still much more that it would cost just running them off your house electricity.

1200 watts wont run any lights

You will not get the money back from the fuel you use, even with weed.

This Idea wont work, If you really want to grow remotely why not outside or in a greenhouse? Reasons and situation please.

well. I thought people did this all the time. If you grow pounds at 5,000 a piece it could work. I mean does no one on here use a generator. If it costs 930 a month with 30 dollar a day fuel youd still be making a profit because that would be 3000 for a 3 month season. But if you grew 5 pounds youd have 25,000. so 3 generators costing 9,000 to run for 90 days Youd be 15,000 ahead in 3 months. I guess you gotta go big and sell high.

Not that I would ever sell any of my weed, but it sure wouldnt be in 20 sacks, and thats the only way to get anywhere near 5gs. Your using DEA numbers

well nyc of course. and to clarify i dont and will never sell. im just a major smoker and i like to have the best. and jesus if you sold 20s from a pound youd have probably 10gs. A nice perfect weighed pound of good stuff will easily fetch 4-5gs, remember this is the city of the 20 dollar pinched gram. people pay 20 and usually get less than a gram. .5 - .8 is normal. an ounce here is more than 500 for quality. so even if you broke that 5g P into 16 O's youd get 8Gs. Calis close I bet, any big city for that matter.

Here in North Texas, we usually have to pay 20 bucks a gram, but it's usually legit. Our eighths run 60-70, Ounces are like 400 give or take. So even if you sold only ounces for 400, that pound would come out to 6,400. But people here always buy grams eighths and quarters so it's probably actually like 7 grand.

good info. so if we take your citys prices and say that you get 6400 for a pound thats a hell of a profit even if your generator cost you 3000 to run for it. I think the same can be said for any city unless your in mexico. So seems feasible.

again anyone have a real dont bother story or a positive one on a generator garden. i seriously imagined someday id be running a garden on generators i want to know if im dreaming.

I know solar panels are expensive but I bet you could earn your money back in the first harvest.

also you could look into running ur generator on pure veg oil or sunflower oil, i run my car on both! and the local chip shop/chicken hut is more than happy to give it away.

Solar power for a grow? That's been questioned on here so many times.. lol.. you people obviously have never looked at solar prices.. wind would be more efficient and cheaper, though- you sure can't hide a wind tower..

Using a generator though- geeze.. talk about eexxxppeeennsive. Not to mention the amount of times you'd have to run back and forth to refill that thing- sure would raise eyebrows always moving around fuel, esp. if it is a remote location.. just a thought.
