Yo J, I've been following this thread but I might have missed where you talk about the efficiency of your 12 3590's on 2x HLG 240H C1050.

I'm just curious what the numbers are for 6 CXB3590's on a HLG 240H C1050.

The closest thing I could find was Supra's:

@61.2%
(5) CXB3590 3500K CD 36V @ 1.05A (35.5W ea) $237.50
(1) HLG-185H-C1050 $65
177.5 dissipation W -> 68.9W heat ->
passive cooled heatsink 8268cm² -> 4.9"X36" $70
or
active cooled heatsink 2756cm² -> 3.5"X36" heatsink (for spread) $45 + 80mm fan + psu $10
(5) lenses $20
108.63 PAR W covering 6ft² =
$392.50 = $3.61/PAR W passive cooled
$377.50 = $3.48/PAR W active cooled

But of course, you're using the 240 driver instead of the 185, as well as 6 COBs instead of 5.
Yeah this is not my thread, so I didn't go into too much detail. But yes, I believe it is roughly 61% efficient.

Indeed. Sorry about that mau5, just wanted to drop in and thank you really.
Mine is 12 3590's on 2x HLG 240H C1050.
Thanks Mary
Yeah I'm going a little "brighter" than you.
I've got 8 set up the same minus a hs. But I'm running 4 per hlg-240h-c1750b.
I see all these 700,1050,1400 ma ran cobs and just want to get more lumens outta my cobs. My dad's doing 6 cxb3070's, 3each to 2) hlg-240h-c2100bs. I'm jealous. I just couldn't justify buying a whole other driver and an extra cob AND heatsink for it. But when the hlg 320's come out, you can guarantee I'll be buying 2 to replace my 240's that I'll just sell. I want 2100 ma's really bad. But I'll have to wait and be okay with 1750 fer now. :/

Anyone know if lpc 150-2450 is good for anything except blasting a single cob? If I ran in parallel 600ma 4 string, would it go from 62vdc to 240vdc???

how many watts you get outta each cob on 1750

I have a funny feeling that you won't be disappointed. The first time I fired mine up I was seriously shocked at how bright it was. To me, it looked brighter than my 1000w hps's.

Well we'll see very soon! Haha the 2100''s he 's using are on 3070''s though so it won't be AS BRIGHT AS my 3590s would be at that amperage but I'm sure 1750 will be juuuuust fine.

wow thats a huge drop in efficiency form 1400ma.. you where better off with going with the 1400ma and adding an extra cob to those drivers ..you owuold have gotten a little more par and used over 100less watts at the wall imo..for future setups for ya

He has a dimmer.

so what does that mean??
Lol don't piss in his Cheerios. He can dim them to 1400--or even 700--and gain efficiency. I think he has too much cowbell at full amps, but it's not something that isn't correctable with a twist of a knob.

if he dropped down from 1750 to 1400 he could add extra cob..at better effeciceny ..using less watts at wall with basically same par ..also better spread.that he could also dim
Agree, but it's still a very nice light that he can run at whatever efficiency he likes. And if he ever gets mites he can crank the knob and nuke 'em from orbit. It is the only way to be sure.
