So I have a theory , got a Afghani thats drinks more than anything I grown before. Which tells me its roots system has blown the Fu#k up and the pot size is to small , I'm thinking of incorporating a hempy root reservoir , enclosed to fit the bottom of this pot, the plant is 2 weeks into 12/12 , 1 week before it shown its sex.

Its the Herbies regular freebie Afghani , super touchy to N overdose but once dialed in ,she shines.

The container itself should be very perforated which it is not so I will tend to that , and or just cut the bottom off , carefully. Just a thought but about to become reality I will post follow ups and results.
Hempy Bucket Soil Insert .... Which brings to mind seal will be the biggest issue to make this work how big of a grommet will it take or maybe even a O-ring will do.

Little update following through and again this Afghani #1 , is drinking like a fish , daily needing watered/fed.

So I found a container that fits well. And seals well , well see how it go's/grows.
Rinsed the perlite and watered the plant over top with 6.5 tap runoff filled rez just 3/4. Perlite rez left clear container to see progression will black out as needed.

Little more fine perlite than I would have liked.

Well she is praying for the first time and maintained some moisture. Got some healthy roots peeking out looks to be doing its job.

Another update , perlite res is keeping soil moist all the way to the top nice and even , slowly draining res , although the plant is appearing to droop a little at the bottom , but the leaves are huge and can only count that for water weight and broad leaves.

Hey, I'm going to be growing the Afghani on my next grow.

I saw you mentioned N over dose was really easy so I ask: What medium are you using, what nutrients are you using, and how much/often did you feed/water it?

I will elaborate more but just to simplify atm only plant to ever get N tox while in Veg using FFOF/RootsOrganices/Recycled not mixed, I took the top off because of N tox which let the lower nodes match the upper sprouts , looking like I mainlined 4x.

Alright have never used any Nutrient line or products other the budswell and my own worm casting.

I start most the times , papertowel/heat/container. Then once germinated 24-78 hours I transfer straight to FFOF , running a well known side by side , 2 weeks into veg I add my tea consisting of blackstrap molasses and fresh worm castings , soon this plant went dark green , downward clawing and canoeing. Flushed topped and fixed.

I have another Affie in veg , that I have maintained a better health learning from the first , is why I post this , all the info on this freebie is shit , but maybe , being a pure indica if not mostly , is just harder to grow.

Also I Introduce the budswell tea and Worm Poop a week before I flip them to 12/12.

Edit: Also testing this Hempy soil reservoir No NO transplant fix. :]

She looks pretty good
Thanks , she does look good but the leaves are off the hook , guessing thats all indica traits, normally I would slightly defoliate but she seems like a finicky B#tch and I'll leave her be , I will if , it knocks me on my ass, I might try the dreadful Re-Veg.

Update:
The droopiness was just due to the lights out period and perked up progressively for the next 2 hours of light. Thinking I will have to be watering tomorrow but feeling the top of the soil and the rez being at about 20% Im thinking I will be able to wait an additional day.

Here is the 3 week old Afghani round 2 looking the same before the tea.
And after taking this picture you can see some verge of def and Slight N Tox.

Yeah I agree , but I didn't remove from the pot I just dropped it in on top of the perlite. And its still doing a great job of wicking and staying moist.

Also I have never left a plant in any container long enough to rootbound.
