There's another four strings in the tent. Otherwise my block would smell lol
An awesome grow...documented build to finish. I see build-wise you are thinking of going to 75w a cob and spreading them out. This is a copy of some math that Supra did:Update: Starting my week and a half or so flush tonight. Looking at the trics and plants they will be ready within the next couple weeks. I usually take them down at 65 days under hps but they look done almost a week early. Still not much amber but lots of milky so i will wait the 62-65 days and take them down. Want to get a nice and proper flush on these babies to get the best final product. Right now compared to the same cuts run in my buddies grow under 600 hortis my flowers look smaller but when you squeeze them they are twice as dense. Much more color under the leds as well. Had some cool temps but still looking to be on track for my best gpw ever. Will post pics before chop and dry weights. By far the greenest and most triked out flowers ive ever had. Usually by now i have some leaf fade but this run their as healthy as ever. Smell is off the charts. You can see the two different strains in the overhead picture pretty well. The stretchier golf ball purple nugs are the GSC and the green leafy ones are my Holy Grail Kush cut from DNA. Shes usually a stretch monster but for some reason this run stayed very short and stocky which im thinking came from the foliar feeding off Bio Cozyme by growmore the first two weeks after the flip. Ive known a few people who have tried this and said it worked and i now have anecdotal evidence myself it works. Anyway here are the pics before the beginning of the end ! The one picture you can see the mylar in the back is a flower obviously on the edge of the 5x5 but is still looking pretty damn nice for being on the edge of the coverage design of my light. Uber impressed with the performance of this light. Im going to build another soon but i think i will run them at 75w each with the same type of setup but bigger spacing between . Cover more area with more light. A little less efficient but from what im seeing i dont feel i would see much of a difference except more yield and better coverage. We will see, eventually my whole setup will be cobs and im sure i will have people wanting me to build them some after i show them the results. I already have people asking me based on what theyve seen already and thats without seeing or weighing the final product. Cheers!
I didn't dim the last few weeks as it was too damn cold out and was struggling to keep it above 70 lights on. So figured dimming wouldn't help save terps as it was already pretty cool in there and didn't seem worth it to dim. I will be trying it next time depending on temperatures.Good job there!
I've been watching your thread with great interest. I've recently finished my own COB build, 4 lights, each with 2 bars of 4 COBs (32 total) with 2 dimmable 1,400ma Mean Well drivers. It's also my first go with Coco. I'm loving it, now that I got my head around the fact that you actually have to feed the plants from the get go! I've only got 3 of the new lights up at the mo as I've got some plants finishing under a 600w hps at one end and wasn't sure if they would like it if I swapped the light. I have just put a bunch of new plants under the COBs to flower and am running the lights at .700ma, which seems to be plenty. My plan is to boost it to 1.04 in a couple more weeks.
I was wondering if you dimmed the lights in the last couple of weeks like you mentioned near the beginning of the thread?
I'd say it was up to par of a thouie. Problem was in peak bloom with lights on I was only hitting 68f so way to cool. Now I'm up to 78f all the time because of the DE exhausting into the same space. I won't buy another hps ever if that's what you want to know. I'll keep my old setups for when it's cold and I need heat but otherwise I'll be running strictly leds especially in the summer. The co2 bags were just given to me and I figured I wasn't pulling a whole lot of fresh air as it's a detached building with no heat so I was just recirculating the air because I needed all the heat I could get. So extra c02 is a bonusSo your saying it was a HPS killer grow ??? You ran 600 watt of Cob lighting to get under 2 pounds ?? So you had 6 plants plus how many holy grail ???
Also was wondering how did you know the ppm of C02 in that mushroom bags did it come with some sort of dial ???
Or you have sniffer ?? and if so why would you not run bottle instead ??? Just think with cob lighting being so much cooler then Hid adding C02 would be a moot point i mean useless you added heat .
Cause you never get it up to optimal temps were in the 90 - 92 degree F range and DE hueying like a mofo when we run C02 supliment
Have tested the sugar n water mickey mouse Hydro store bought c02 boosters and kits there a waste of money and produce very little ppm if any i highly doubt you were in the 900 ppm range but more in the - 450 tops
Nice grow non of the less i am finishing up some cherry pie 2 plant 600 watt HID 18 gallon no till Although its not a huge yielding plant i think for 2 plants might just surprise my self another 2 - 2.5 to go i am guessing anywhere from 1.5 up but we will see they were vegged 2 weeks under 150 watt Hid then 2 weeks under 600 and flipped there beasts last pic is top view
I am more of big boy 1k grower found one of my old 600 watt units thought give it a try lol
I have a short 2'x1.5' veg/mother box with 40W of vero 18 5000k at 500mA so about 49% efficiency... so 13.333W/sqft? The plants will hit the lights after about a foot tall.@churchhaze do you use higher k leds for veg?? If so how many w / sqf based on say 50% efficiency?
Thanks dude. Got my hands on some 6500k DB x9 for my 5x5veg going to do 50w each and spread them out on 40" passive heatsinks. Couple snaps from the area 51 tent with the cookies. Frosty as a mofo. Been slacking this run, way to much on the go. Had a buddy see what's happening with my leds and gave me some loot to build him 4 750w lights. So needless to say been uber busy. Don't want to see a tap again for a while. Will post some pics of my diy tent and the thouie tent before harvest. On the second week of flush now so their a little rough looking but will be quality meds for sure!I have a short 2'x1.5' veg/mother box with 40W of vero 18 5000k at 500mA so about 49% efficiency... so 13.333W/sqft?
