here we go again. Every time... The only thing almost everyone agrees with is the Mars is total garbage period.you can grow bud with an incandescent bulb or even a glow stick - but why waste the time and money?

then you have the mars employees, mars sponsored 'growers', and the guys that think $100-XyZ is a ton of money and they need to urgently justify to themselves and the world why they spent so much and made a bad choice.

just run away when somebody posts their mars crop pictures and doesn't feel disgusted. They are often happy with what other growers would feel is a failure. It's like bragging you lost your virginity when a 80 year old prostitute fingered your bum.

Its 140 true watt so I'm at a loss what to believe ?

And it's idiots like you that probably criticize teenagers spending 5000 dollars on their very first car learning to drive, for not going out and buying a brand new 50,000 dollar car.

It's the same damn thing. Something you haters seem to constantly forget, the cost of a good cob setup, is 4-5x the cost of a mars.

Did it EVER occur to you that many people simply can't afford or don't want to spend a ton of money of lights?

So if a new grower just trying to learn and can only start off with a low budget, small setup, are you seriously going to sit there and criticize them for using a 70 dollar light instead of a 500 dollar cob? If so, then you can just find another forum to troll with your bullshit ignorance.

Have you ever tried a mars panel? They work fine.they run a lil hot but if you know how to utilize the heat its a non-factor.
I see a large portion of your posts are dedicated to bashing mars so i just wondered if you had a bad experience with them?

I completely agree. I have the Mars Hydro 300w with the 5w diodes and I have been getting great results from tomatoes and cannabis plants. I wouldn't be confident in flowering more than one plant at a time though, but it's great for veg.
 
using a 300w (3w chipset) and a 400w (5w chipset)...actual wattage draw is about 280w. not mars but apollo horticulture ( same exact lights as mars), i am able to get a g/w
 
Truth is that a number of us have had very bad experiences with the Mars hydro co. Formerly topledlights..

THEY DON'T HONOUR WARRANTY.
it's really that simple so that cheaper than cob light quickly becomes far more expensive when the Mars light fails, seems to be mostly the Mars ii series.

They also claimed watts comparisons that simply had no basis in reality, I see now that they show actual wattage clearly on there web site these days.. It's hilarious seeing that as I discussed this a number of years ago with them and they told me... But everyone does it... No they don't and that's a very good reason to dump on them... I could go on but won't...

Currently finishing up our last Mars hydro run and it'll be pretty good but the one cob light is killing the Mars lights at 66% of the electrical cost...
 
I'm gonna get a lushpro 200w COB for a small grow cupboard with my mars 300...
If anyone has doubts about a 200w lushpro then please say so :))
Or should I just get a mars 600 true watt 278w..
You guys have made this so confusing to the point where I'm not sure if any mars product is any good?
If the mars 600 will produce the same or better than a lushpro COB I would prefer the mars 600...
God only knows at this point :(

you could diy a 200w cob panel for about 150 and would be a way better light than that...wouldnt be the most effecient but would probably do a beter job by itself than ur mars and the lushpro combined. 4 cxa2530s, hlg 185h c1400 and 4 artic alpine cpu coolers
 
I'm Mechanical Trade Qualified but have no idea at all about electronics.... I just radio a sparky... So I need a pre built one. Otherwise I would

My opinions are not really to just bash the HORRIBLE mars panels but to caution others against buying them. They spend an astronomical amount of money falsifying results, reality, etc. If my opinions or the opinions of the community make you butthurt you can join a community where MARS pays people to agree with you and justify any opinions you have - or deletes the ones they don't like. Do your own research, but this sub is for reality
zero authorities or mentors would ever recomend you begin with a mars. It's worse than almost every other option the same price even less... even on fire sale (like now) . Essentially you buy a lie and fake reviews and sponsored fake grows, or sponsor people happy with inferiority. Sorry about the butt hurts.

Best luck to everyone. And I speak from experience - mars 1600. It's a dust collector, and complete trash. Just the opinion of somebody who spent for their top/most expensive product and saw the truth,. The new ones are 10 years behind diy at least and designed by 'engineers' (children with a 2nd grade education)
