ive been using it for a long time. i would definitely recommend it if your res temps are out of optimum range. i also recommend throwing some pondzyme in as well. its cheap, and the combination of hydroguard+pondzyme keeps my roots proper, even during the warmer months.

I've never used anything against root rot. I'm personally of the opinion that prevention is better than cure. I keep my res temps low and have two Hailea V60 air pumps for 5 res's....they bubble like crazy, but i've never had one single issue with root rot since i started DWC.

Bud rot, now that's another story. Nearly lost a crop to that shit but luckily caught it in time.

I've used it since they discontinued aqua shield. I have nothing bad to say about it, roots stay bright white and grow like crazy. My roots aren't in optimum range and don't have problem w root rot (knock on wood)

Do you use sweet with it or add some benies every week ?

So it's better and cheaper to Just add some hydroguard every week in m'y 200 liter rdwc .i change my reservoir every 2 week so Just add like 200ml first week and 100ml second week do that make sense ?
Hydroguard is a bennie and there's no reason to add any extra food specifically for it. It "feeds" on any excess organic materials, such as dead root tissue, in the solution, and probably some trace amounts of carbs from your nutes.

Well when I start my second round in DWC I'm definitely going to spend the extra dosh on some Hydroguard then!
$75 for a gallon. I'm going on 7+ months and is not even halfway gone. So like $35 or so a yr. I might go back to quarts, it's supposedly got a shelf life, so we'll see if this stuff still works at the end of the bottle. I originally bought the gallon because I was applying at 5ml/L, not 5ml/Gal...:wall:, almost 4x the recommended dose. So it was going fast. I realized my mistake like 2 days after buying the gallon.

That's pretty much what I do. I do 10 day res changes usually. I add when I mix a new batch, then I add a second full dose at 5 days. I apply at 0.5ml/L each time.

My mother go a month+ before full res changes, same thing, just add it at 0.5ml/L at changes, and with every top up.

If I start seeing something I don't like, I'll bump up to 1ml/L for a week or two.
