Why do you newbs always grow auto's?

I bet his opinion would not be the same if his autos were ruderalis dominant or genetically pure ruderalis...
This clearly shows you know nothing about auto flowering plants. Someone told you about them and the one word you get right is ruderalis. Affirms "knowledge without the capacity to interpret it is really bad for you"

I'd tell you more, and why what you think of autos is scientifically absurd, but I might worsen your state of ignorance. Just know autos are the new best thing to happen to cannabis growing.

Do your research, information is free, talk to the right people, not Bro, "I pity the fool" that listens to your advice. "Use your head!"

dude, you know you rollin durty! lol. just kiddin. i'm with you: if you have an outdoor g'house and indoor grow, bugs are almost a given. just gotta kill em quick.

Sure. Pm me.

I think I will ad predatory mites. That spinosad worked great.

For most of its history, no-one has been too interested in the ‘forgotten’ member of the cannabis family known as Cannabis Ruderalis. Unlike Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa, Ruderalis lacks the potent pyschoactive properties and for this fundamental reason Ruderalis has been largely ignored.

Cannabis Ruderalis is a branch of the ganja family that has adapted for life in extreme northern climates such as Northern Europe, Northern Russia and Canada. These regions have short growing seasons, just 3 months of half decent weather. Normal cannabis indica/sativa simply can’t grow properly in these cold climates with short summers. Cannabis Ruderalis however has cleverly adapted to the extremely short growing season by adapting an automatic growing cycle. With only a short summer to use, Ruderalis plants germinate and immediately set about a frantic growth cycle that allows them to grow, flower and seed in just 10 weeks. This is the only way Cannabis Ruderalis can survive.

Oh and this as well...

For many years Ruderalis was an unusable curiosity in the world of weed. Then, a few years ago breeders came up with the idea of using the Cannabis Ruderalis 10-week life cycle and tried to combine it with the potency of traditional sativa and indica strains. The result was a new type of cannabis which flowered automatically. A seed could be planted and 10 weeks later, irrespective of lighting or grow conditions, the plant was fully mature. - See more at: http://www.cannabisruderalis.com/#sthash.eJksOr8B.dpuf

At least don't knock fem seeds for newbies. Garanteed fem is a huge plus for a first grow. And for autos, with regular seeds on your first grow, where most start small with 1-2 plants, i calculate an average of almost 10 weeks just to sex the plants - i imagine most new growers would flower after 8-9 weeks of veg from seed sprouting then another 1-2 weeks to sex....and yay, 2 males....while the auto is ready to cut and dry

Well, feminized has always been my choice and have never had any issues.

That said, and please understand this is NOT a hostile reply I have only peaceful intentions (so many trolls hanging out on this thread)...A lot of people would think that most newbies should only grow 1 or 2 plants...but these days the popular theory is the more plants the bigger the yield. And while that may be true in an outdoor or rather large indoor grow-op. A huge amount of newbies go for the big grow no matter what. Some will try to put 6 or 7 plants in a small tent, not thinking about how much space that many will need after transplant. Kind of like the cart before the horse theory if ya catch my drift. So, even though it is usually ideal for a new grower to start out small...look around at some of the newbie growz on RIU..Very.many people spending ungodly amounts of money and trying 10 or more on their first attempt, rather than taking time to read and learn. Most have huge issues and then come here franticly screaming for help.

Conversely, I have also seen growerz using cfl in a cardboard box and doing a great job with 1 or 2 gurlz.

Also, many if not most new/first time growerz are IMHO not patient enough to veg for 2 months or more. I know I wasn't. I did a TON of research prior to popping my first seed. And although I knew longer vegging would increase yield... as soon I saw growth...I wanted my own budz ASAP!!! After the first grow, I started allowing time for more vegging, training, and different nute and feeding choices.

your so right!! There is alot of bad information about autos.. the learning curve is very thin and not to many teachers..
I have been studying auto growz for a while now and after my current grow, I am very much leaning towards 3 auto's in my small tent only 36" L and 20" D with 400w. I have a pretty nice set up and will use the same grow style as I always have and see what the outcome is. I am still not completely sold on the idea...more research needed.

I couldn't agree more!!! I love fem seeds (other than being more expensive!).

I haven't been browsing these forums for ever, but I've seen more first timers start small than big personally. Or I don't pay attention to those first timers going big.
Either way I've always recommended the simpler the better in general, and specially for a first grow.

Aside from training techniques...my growz have always been simple...good soil, good nutes, good light, good water, good temps, good humidity, good ventilation etc. I very much prefer to K.I.S.S and mimic nature where and when it is possible and to the best of my ability. I am always satisfied with my budz. Even if I have sometimes gotten smaller than planned harvests or some small nute issues, even had fungus gnats once.

I am a personal use only grower and as such I only grow 4-6 plants per year. The yield is always more than sufficient to fulfill my needs for 3-4 months while cultivating my next harvest. That was how I started... small and simple. Now, it ain't broke so I ain't going to fix it.

They adapted by developing another flowering mechanism. The tap root. Even in the summers the ground is frozen a little ways down.

The tap root is what decides the flowering time on ruderalis. When the tap root hits frozen ground it flowers. Why the difference in size of auto? Same reasons that sativa or indica has different size plants.

The tap root also grows at at angle while going down. This leads to choosing a pot size.

I see people anting autos in small cups and then transplant. That is a big no no. Plant straight to the first am pot. The bigger and tall the pot, the bigger the plant.

Nutrition plays a part in it to. Using veg nutes or good no till or super soil will push the veg times longer.

@justugh is kinda crazy but grows some awesome autos. He pushed some pretty hard and go some insane yields. I don't remember the biggest but you would call bullshit. He has the pics to prove it.

Long winded I know but good info.

I agree.

Although illegal here I still use it and a couple others for medicine. I won't lie, I also enjoy smoking it.

The only thing here is brick. Very rare for indoor. $20+ a gram if you do. Screw that. I refuse to give my money to cartels.

My little 2x4 grows way mor than enough. Big stuff for smoking, little stuff and trim for tinctures, creams and edibles.

That's why j got fired up over croc. Small doesn't mean bad or weak. Quit the contrary, I try to get the most out of it. I also use t5 to mix spectrum and use UV on them.

Dude!

For reasons I would rather not discuss, I stopped using cannabis for 3 to 5 years LOL!monopoly.jpg ...When I started back up, I was rudely awakened by the fact that I used to pay $25.00 per 1/4 and now I had to pay $65 for 1/8th? Are you fuckin kidding me? I went back to cultivating. But, this time around I did a lot of learning...many advances in cultivation techniques since back in the day of $20.00 per LID<<Haha! Sativa land races.*** And now IMHO I grow some insanely good medicine that suits my needs perfectly And since I am the only one who smokes it...my opinion is the only one that matters! Isn't it fun to farm???

GREEN ACRES.jpg

*** I wish I could find the TRUE genetics for the gold's and reds...even though the careless cultivation techniques and bricking made them brown, stemy, and seedy still excellent stuff.

Arjan and his monkey boy claim to have the real stuff but who knows anymore? May hap it is...may hap it ain't...

i am the crazy ass auto grower

my best was 110 days 26 oz 20 grams ........hydro .......that was do to the massive over feeding and supply of water the plant had
https://www.rollitup.org/t/call-it-hydro-exp-gone-mad-imput-wellcome-autoflowering-strain-gone-nutz.764237/

the reason to do auto is very simple
1 it removes the light variable ........allowing it all to be worked in 1 area (plus 20/4 time 30 days is 50 days of 12/12 timing)
2 it is more about feeding and understanding the plant ........with the shorten life span of the plant your feed skills are tuned fast (u learn to read what the plant is telling)
3 the turn over in a year on number for strains tried and experiments run in one area
4 the cost of running this is halved due to equipment amount is lowered
5 the amount u make on a auto is directly linked to the amount of water it is offered combo with the feed it is given........hydro will always make u more buds as long as u go crazy on the feed

for the last few months u been working on tweaking my feed skills to increasing the THC count and amount of oil the plant makes ..........i gotten a clear 4/5% increase using feeds (i got one of the my dx system to test at home)

i am currently working on a super soil mix to build up the weight to combine with my thc/oil increasing feed .....my avg is 4 to 6 oz of weed per plant (old system) my new soil is looking to do much better but i need to tweak the N load more in it the first 3 test strains 2 showed a need for more in 1 showed need for more cal......it repeated again on the next 3 test so will tweak the blood meal

but looking a good 6-8 off the chemdog and the dreamberry is looking to be a solid 5 maybe 7 ....the blackberry should come in a solid 4/5

edit note
my work is done in a 7 gallon fabric planter with only about 6 and half gallons of soil......my max water rentention is 1 gallon every 2 days when the plant is in full bloom in a 70 degree room .....1 gallon every 3 days if temps in room drop in low 60s......led lights (HIDs do more weight but led get the better thickness in the lower sites )
