I guess that'd work. If @Growmau5 gets back to me soon and that 80/20 T Slot isn't too much, I'd much rather use that cause I'd be able to slide them all along the 48" i plan on using these on.

@robincnn, finally recieved my 3070 bb's!!! Yes!!!. Question, since I have the thermal paste on hand(ordered some graftech pads for these as I forgot he ordered a "kit" instead of just the sinks) can I use this until the tim pads i ordered arrive? Are the cobs easily removed once it is applied? Any special considerations to adhere to when applying it? Didn't trust myself with applying the artic silver hence me ordering the tim pads. Don't want to fry my 3070's!

I would advice you either go with the TIM or wait and use the pads. Removing TIM and switching to pads is possible but you risk damaging cob.
TIM is not that difficult. The TIM templates i provided make it even easier.

You can use the TIM. Once TIM dries out in few days, it is not as easy to take the cob out. You have to remove holder and then push cob sideways to break the suction/stickiness of TIM. If not done properly the ceramic cob can crack/scratch. You can use iso alcohol to remove TIM from back of cob and heatsink. Good luck with your DIY

I actually found a design that's cheaper and will work. @robincnn , we're almost there. Just give me about a week for stuff to get delivered, and you're generosity will finally be showcased!

Hey guys/gals, I'm having an issue with the 3070s staying the the ideal holder. they are certainly made differently than the 3590's holders. When I got to put the cob+holder onto the heatsink, one small wiggle to make sure artic silver makes complete contact, and the 3070 pops out of the holder. I got my 3070s and holders from kingbrite if that makes any difference. It appears as though the cob doesn't make contact snuggly in the corners

There's a SMALL flange that protrudes out of only ONE side of where the holder meets the cob. (opposite of the spring arm) I'm sure it's not set correctly. Sometimes you have to hold the holder down while you tighten it down so the flange and the spring arm are positioned correctly. It's not rocket science. Just give it a good, close looking at.

Thank you @Airwalker16. I watched the video on ideals website also. didn't get to see what I was looking for. Question, the spring arm does it sit off centered on the edge of the cob or directly under it? My cob pops out easily once I set it on the heatsink and move the holder.

It goes along side the side of the cob.
