yes you could just "dye" the weed with kool aid. but it soaks up the kool-aid, through the stem. so it goes purple from the inside out.
its not like your dipping the buds into a dye.
i think im going to make one of my colas purple, using the KoOl-AiD method or something.

ps. fdd there is no obbsession with purple. i dont sell any of my yeild. i just wanted purple buds because i think they look really pritty.......really cool.

i'm sorry. i know that could have come across as a little attack from my end. sorry. it's not you. it's the people in my area. i've had some very decent bud turned down by a "friend" because it wasn't "purple". i feel it is a lot of hype. there are strains that turn purple. like mentioned before, just grow those. i actually prefer my bud to have a nice GOLDEN cure to it.

I bought a 20 sack of purple last weekend, and the only difference was that it was stronger and didn't take as many hits to get stoned. I got about a third of what I would have gotten in a normal 20 sack

no dude, i wasnt offended or anything like that. you didnt sound like you were directing the comment towards me or anything. i was just letting you know, that i just find purple buds very attractive. and ya i know there are strains that are purple, but im not growing purple strains this time around.( wish i was)
speaking of a golden cure, have you ever smoked or heard of the strain
" pot of gold" ???????
"POG" is a very nice strain, i love it personally.

ok I am growing a purple starain and I got this stuff that has been tested in the hills of humbolt where a lot of old timers grow large crops. It is called Purple MAxx. The growers swear by it and it not only turns purple but it increases resin production and crystals. I just started using it. So i dont know yet. They dont gaurantee anything but I thought it was worth a shot. I will post a pic of the bottle if you like.............

i recently bought a purple urkle clone and im hoping to find a way to make it purple so far its on the first week of flower standing 1.5ft tall and green with mild purple on the main cola. I heard they go purple from the temperture getting down about 40f. I believe the average refrigerator temp is around 40f. i think im going to try buying a new clone and put it in the fridge for the darkside of the 12/12 growth.

I found this from american garden supply. its from the fox farms (*ahem, Humboldt county, rather) line of products and is a lot like another product they have, a flower/bud hardener under the name Gravity and its in the same style bottle. I don't know if this particular product works; however, a friend of mine who is a grower used Gravity on his mature females and got some purple on his bud.
hope this helps.

PURPLE MAXX This product has been in development for over 2 years under the name of STACKER. We discovered a combination of organic compounds that would encourage plants to stack their flowering sites closer together, increase resin production and flower size and stimulate extreme crystal development. Early this year we were optimizing a feeding regimen using GRAVITY and STACKER that would lead to even more extreme results when 2 of our beta testers out in the hills reported that STACKER caused their plants to turn dark purple! We decided to rename it PURPLE MAXX. Word spread like wildfire through the hills of Humboldt County and soon we were handing out 50-100 samples a week. Soon people were coming in asking for gallons! Please keep in mind: This is an experimental product that we dont think is ready for market but due to extreme demand we are releasing it in limited quantities. DIRECTIONS: No one should buy this product with the expectation that they will get a drastic color change with one or two applications. That only happens for about 1/4 to 1/3 of our testers when they foliar feed or water with PURPLE MAXX about 3 weeks before finish. Many people claim it doesnt cause any color change at all. The following directions are presently the latest refinement in the feeding schedule. This product usually causes a massive uptake of nutrients so fertilizer solution should be cut back by about 1/3 (750-900 ppm). (1) If you are close to the end of the flowering cycle it would be best to feed PURPLE MAXX with plain water. Use 1/2 to 1 tsp. of MAXX per gallon of water right up to the end. If you have good air circulation you can spray with 1/2 to 1 tsp/ gallon. Some testers have used a lot more. (2) If you are just starting the bloom cycle, use 1/2 to 1 tsp. per gallon of water and apply about once a week or foliar feed with 2 ml/ gallon (1 tsp/ 2 1/2 gallons of water). If plants show no sign of tip burn, nutrient strength can be increased somewhat. Regardless of color change, almost all testers over the past 2 years have noticed extreme crystallization, increased resin production and larger more massive flowersespecially when used with GRAVITY. HYDROPONIC APPLICATIONS: At this time, hydro is a big unknown. One thing for certain- DO NOT USE AN AERATOR! If using PURPLE MAXX in the reservoir, it should be added the day before a reservoir change. Best is to use the foliar feed method as far into bloom as possible.

I used the humboldt purp shit on my last crop of purple clones and I got no coloration difference. But maybe it was just me. I will not use that stuff again. It was awaste of time. And I agree that purple bud is not always better.

I know that those products can be used in clone systems. However, I have never used it in anything but soil. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I do know that I saw significant change with the application of the Gravity flower hardener in soil. as to the purple maxx, it says on it that it helps to have a species prone to purple-ing, which you had...so I don't know maybe it is shit. lol
