I found a way to turn buds purple quite by accident. I chopped some diesel ryders, did the first trimming and hung'em in my dry box which I then transported to another location. Forgot about it and left it the bed of a pickup in 10 deg f....next day of course the drying buds were frozen stiff ...brought'em inside to continue drying ....they were deep purple.....so it demonstrated to me that hanging just chopped plants in freezing weather for one day WILL give you purple...it didn't afffect the potency either....the one that was left outside was one of 3 harvested...........

^^ yup, since the plant is still alive within the week you are drying it, it can and most likely will turn purple..

The way I make any of my plants go purple, and I literally mean ANY is inducing flowering under an hps, then after the flowers are done developing and have not swollen yet, is when i put them outside in cold weather, about 40 degrees, over a few weeks they will turn purple. ALL of my plants all different genetics are turning violet, pinkish purple, and black :D

One plant however which was really unique being that it didnt even grow many flowers anywhere, like single flowers at single nodes, that didnt even turn purple, but it was the healthiest plant i have ever had, the leaves were so waxy and shiny that it was like a mirror haha

One is a headbanger, og skywalker, and 2 unknown bagseed. None of which have purple in their names nor have i even seen a purple of these strains. Albeit they grew small since i transplanted them right when i induced flowering but still they are pretty damn awesome. They have such deep purple to them.

im growing a blue mystic the temps at night are about 50-60 degrees so far only the leave have turned a very faint blue but i suspect if the temps stay cold here later into flowering the buds will follow and the cold has not held back growth much comparing pictures to other BM at roughly the same age into flowering cold temps do change color on your plant but it also depends on the strain i guess
