How did their roots look HR?
I did not actually remove (wash off?) the the soil and/or expose the roots intentionally. The roots were reaching the edge of the pot and I'm hoping that when they hit fresh soil they'll find what they need. Could be an uninformed decision, we'll see. The soil isn't toxic, its just a poorly made mix, and I doubt it contains all "5" ingredients that its supposed to. The plants were not getting what they need, maybe now they will.

I don't think transplanting is ever bad. It may be hard, but not bad. New fresh soil, in the ground; my prediction is they will recover soon and be taking off shortly.

@Humanrob I bet after a week in the ground they start looking a 1000% better. Some of mine look pretty rough when they hit the holes but a couple weeks later you'd never guess. What dry fertilizer are you using if you don't mind me asking?

@WV: Jetson I feel you with the mantra. When I'm at work and the weather gets fierce I'm in the back calling my wife to make sure everything's ok. Now she just lets me know before I ask. Lol. It's amazing how much of ourselves we invest in this plant. What size of smart pots are you rocking? Those girls are going to be monsters.

Thanks for that. I got them in before this day of rain, a few days of sun and I'm hoping they settle in.

Happy Frog dry nutes.

I was shopping for 15g. The kid at the greenhouse supply talked me into a squat pot: same volume; but wider, not taller. Of course they don't stock 15g squat pots so I moved up to 25's! Yee-Haw: ride 'em cowboy!

I made the chop yesterday. I started 10 seeds (4/16), all Mammoth from Oregon Green Seed, 9 made it through seedling to transplant into the garden. Yesterday (6/25), pre-flowers developed enough to show sex. Out of 9 plants, 3 were male and chopped. One female was also chopped to make room for her more stately sister. I got lucky in that I now have four females, all healthy, all spaced four feet apart.

I have a crappy camera but managed to get a reasonable image of the boy parts on one of the males:

My Swiss Strawberry. Other than very minimal LST, I haven't done anything with her. She's growing, keeping up with the other plants, looks healthy. Getting her frost on, too! I'm either gonna have the biggest colas or a ton of popcorn - time will tell.

It's been pretty quiet down in the backyard. I took a little @Larry {the} Gardener smoke test on the SS: nice and smooth, not really any strong flavor profiles, but also not harsh at all for as uncured as it was. Manageable lung expansion... bongsmilie

Her work is done: I guess I don't need that support twine anymore. My thoughts and good karma to any being threatened by wildfire. Have a safe weekend, farmers!

That looks like it would taste good.

I've found that waiting ten minutes between hits works best for me when trying to decide where to put it on the Head Totem Pole. That way you can feel the slower changes as they happen. But taste and flavor is just as important, and that first hit will give you the best data on that.

My buddy had left me a little chunk of bud this morning. I was hoping for a seed in it, but alas, there wasn't one. I went ahead and did a smoke test on it anyway, because he told me he would save the seeds from the bag for me. {I wasn't able to wait 10 minutes between hits due to time restraints}

Last week he gave me a dozen or so seeds. I ask him if they were BST1's 2's, 3's or 4's. He said, "all of them." All I could say was "thanks." I will be able to pick the BST2's out of a lineup though. There is no mistaking those wide leaves. And I'm not going to turn down seeds, even unlabeled bag seeds.

I need to remember that 10 minute rule...

Yellowing of the original fan leaves. If I wasn't on this forum, it would bother me a bit. But since I am: it's all good, right? Normal progression of growth - they are definitely reaching for the stars!

They are calling for rain for awhile - through the weekend. It's gonna be a mudfest at the Country Fair! See you next time!

They look healthy. Yeah at a certain time into flower its a natural progression for the original fans to yellow and drop. Using up all its energy to put into flowers

Here's a couple quick shots of what I've got going on. The big girls and my light dep. I've got a thread going with more pics of anyone cares to check it out. Stay safe and happy farming.
What's the distance between your plants in the ground?
