California Approves Recreational Marijuana Ballot Measure

I smoke a lot of weed man, me & my girl bought a zip sunday & were down to a quarter....by the end of the night it will be an eighth....well be buying weed again by friday.....if not sooner. People come by throughout the day & ill burn with them also.....so it goes....
So, roughly an ounce and an half per week, let's round up to two ounces per week or 104 ounces per year. 6.5 pounds per year. An outdoor grow easily makes this amount with six plants doesn't it? What's the gripe? Agree that one ounce possession limit is not in line with the six plant limit. That can be fixed. To vote down the whole measure because of that seems a bit off in the head. As paddy said, recreational users are being fined and worse for simple possession.

Why not just vote yes, pay the tax and toke up and not have to worry about people going to jail for it?
California has been legal and recreational for the last 20 years. No ones getting busted growing 6 plants these days. Fuck you can grow 25 and no ones going to say a thing, in front of a police station at that. California is the best place on planet earth!!!!!

That puts everybody at the whim of law enforcement. There have been changes in enforcement in certain counties in CA that have affected growers. The problem is, until it is legal, it is not. All that has to happen is a change in attitude in Sac and the whole house of cards goes down. Also, this gives individual law enforcement officers the leeway to bust somebody if they have a beef with them. Legalize it and all the shenanigans go away.

I don't know why I'm even writing this because it's legal in OR where I live. And it's great. I have my four growing, I can go to the local dispensary and pick out what I want and I don't have to go to a doctor and lie to him to get my medical card. I pay about 20% sales tax and OR has the lowest prices for weed in the nation. I don't understand what's the beef with the CA initiative.

Legalize it, don't criticize it.

Seems to have a familiar ring to it...

The idea that cannabis is illegal at all flies in the face of everything I think of as 'justice';

It's not harmful. I mean, REALLY not harmful.

It has nutritive, medicinal and recreational benefits.

Growing it is as dangerous to society as growing geraniums.

The real crime is that it was ever outlawed in a 'free' country to begin with!

The bottom line reason why so many are complaining about legalizing? They know the price of product will fall and they might have to get a job!

Its so easy to grow too. At least it is easy outdoors in Oregon. CA should be even easier. First year growing for me and its as simple as tomatoes. I might change my tune at harvest but right now, easy. The girls are five feet tall, bushy and there are 6-7 weeks of veg to go. An experienced grower could do better of course. I'm not saying high quality boutique weed is going to ever go out of style but average weed is going to be hard pressed to maintain a high price.

So I'm going into business to sell commercial operators ways to grow it for ever less cost. The market is headed in exactly the direction I anticipated and I plan to be ready.

Only some of them. The rest do this as their day job. They know who they are.

You make a lot of assumptions about me and what I'm thinking. You should stop doing that and ask me instead, because you're so often WRONG.

He wants to save people money growing weed and it makes him a Nazi? Maybe a socialist country would make you feel more welcome...
Yea he wants to save people money by lining his own pockets. Selling them bull shit. Again canabis is already legal in California. Unbelievable how you want the government to control everything we do.

No its is not legal yet. Lack of enforcement is not the same a legalization. Why are you so concerned about legalization? Is it because you feel it will hurt your business?

California Marijuana Laws
http://statelaws.findlaw.com/california-law/california-marijuana-laws.html
California marijuana laws changed drastically with the decriminalization of possession (under 28 grams) and legalization of medical marijuana under the Compassionate Use Act (Proposition 215). It is now akin to a traffic ticket and is only an infraction with no possible jail time involved. But possession with intent to sell, possession or sale of more than 28 grams, and non-medical cultivation of marijuana are still serious crimes in California that often carry prison sentences upon conviction.
