Here's my summary...........
Ordered 30 seeds of Lemon OG Kush, started them all, 28 popped and saved the best 24. An easy grow early up until flowering. Basic fertilizing program, nothing special to report in any way. I vegged for 28 days.....
Flowering was a different story. Although DNA reports the strain stays short, which is one of the reasons I picked it, the Lemon Skunk pheno grew very tall. I even pinched the plants at 3 weeks too. The OG #18 Kush pheno's stayed 3.5-4 ft. tall, very manageable and done 7-10 earlier. The Lemon side is very skunk like, tall, loads of resin, average bud density at best, and took at least 70 days to finish, another week would probably improve it. The Kush side has dense buds, large cola's, and a spicey deep kushy taste and aroma.
Final weight was 46 oz., as I ended with up with 23 plants- so exactly 2 oz per plant. The kush plants probably yielded around 2.5 oz per, and the lemon side 1.5 oz per plant BUT not all of them. So the the sativa side plants had monster center cola's. Pretty good yield overall in my setup......one plant was attacked by mites and was removed and killed off. No other mite damage evident in the room. And 1 plant, on it's main stem, had a clump of male balls with a small pollen release. I have found a few seeds so far, but it's not an issue. It was on one of the Lemon Skunk pheno's.
The money shot: The Lemon pheno's are the keepers......the high is "bright", clear, up with no body to it at all. Until tonight, I thought the "lemon" thing was bullshit, thinking it was more of a berry/fruity/sweetness than lemon. It's only been 8 days of drying, and the smells and tastes are still developing. They are encrusted with resin, great bag appeal for sure. Tonight's bud was very citrusy and noticeably lemony, which I was happy to see. Great taste and smell, good buzz on 1 hit.
On the kushy side, 2/3 of the plants leaned this way. Similar to the OG #18 I grew before, very good weight, done around 9+ weeks, easy to grow and keep healthy. The high is only so-so, a bit confusing with maybe a bit more body too it. Nothing special.
It's not a strain I would do again, but I sure my people will love it. It's like a different surprise in each bud, some kushy, some citrusy, some airy, some dense, etc., etc. If you are looking for the "lemony" pheno, just grow the straight Lemon Skunk and be done with it. If you're looking for more sativa stuff- I'd look for Eskobar's stuff as his sativa stuff is much better all around. And as kushes go, so-so.
Some individual bud pic's up tomorrow. And on to Sweet Seeds "Jack47" FV.
