i am a first time grower from Florida and yesterday I had 7 seedlings I had transferred outdoors. Checked them last night I was down to 4. Check this morning and I'm down to 1!! Some the cups were knocked over with the whole plant just missing and some just the leaves were missing stem still there. What the fuck is this that's basically making me restart. I use diamotaceous earth in soil, sprinkle around, and on plant. Seems to have only worked on one but here's a pic of the issue. Then I have just a pic of my healthy one that's fermenized so hopefully she doesn't herm up on me otherwise I'd have no bud but other than all the DE I just drenched her in she looks good

But I realized it may be some type of rodent so I just went out there and used chili powder and black pepper and made a barrier around my plants. I kept the ones with just the leaves missing hoping those will grow back. Is that possible?

You positive about that. Haha only reason I'm questioning is because I really needed those. I was hoping since plants grow leaves when they grow then they'd just grow back. Sounds right to me. Do you have any science behind your claim? Sure hope not haha

by the way, diatomaceous earth is for bugs, not rats, and its only good till you get it wet, then its useless and has to be reapplied when the soil dries out

It was probably a rat or some other vermin. Put a rat proof cage over them, or get them off the ground and put them somewhere safer.

Possible vermin eating those SPROUTS ... They looked a little young to put out there on its own .... Maybe next time grow them indoors up to a reasonable size then pot it up for outdoors ... DE us a pest repellant only ( desiccant ).

Wish I could do that but can't. Don't have the space and privacy. I'm thinking it was tho because they were behind my shed Which is filled with rats

I had a similar problem. Mice. I ended up putting the plants into hardware cloth "cages" until they were large enough. Those little seedlings are quite appealing apparently. I removed the cages once the plants were about ten inches tall and had no further problems.
