Lovely Job mate , well done, looks nice. So, this is my first cob build, but not my first DIY light.

Go to 1000 watt clu048 grow. I'm just telling you what the grower told me. Go to that thread and PM him.I hate to be a downer but isn't 20 x1212 @1400mA (50w each) 1000W total?! I call bullshit on 5-6lbs per run.
are those charts for version 5?@tomate here you go
that sounds bad, were you able to fix that or is that game over for the cob? asking because im having some doubt if I should use holder or solder@Ledder42O I delaminated the soldering pad when I first tried soldering to it.
I would consider those tables very accurate for wattage and voltage, conservative for lumen/PPF output and efficiency based on what we've seen so far from real-world measurements.are those charts for version 5?
what am i not understanding when people say these are better than Cree? The efficiency just isn't there
You know, that's actually a worst case scenario, so I feel your pain. Thick wire is a bitch to heat up, you need a serious iron, and a serious tip, with serious heat moving fast, or yeah, it could grab and pull it up.I have gotten use to soldering 14 gauge wire to an 1/8" thic k COB for the last few months. Compare to a Luna 300 it is an egg shell.
thanks for the tips. i normally (pcbs) use 1mm because the 0.5mm burns up so fastI threw a holder over it and it is still working. If you solder, you need a good soldering iron and make sure the tip is very clean. I like to use the thinnest solder I can find. If you aren't sure about the holders, talk to the tech guys at Citizen or CDIweb.com.
He is using 1212s lolwell, guy asking questions about 1212s says his clu friend is pulling xx... doesnt necessarily mean his buddy uses 1212s...
The very first post in that thread talks about how this is the first time he has run these 1212's so he's just estimating yield based on past runs with other COBs from what I can see. He also runs a perpetual which is slightly different than a full run because of the way it uses the space.Go to 1000 watt clu048 grow. I'm just telling you what the grower told me. I'll take 10 in lower k2 x 5000k 1825s about to veg out, will prob run them about 80-100W each. driver maxes out at 113W per cob

i didnt mount them. heatsinks just sit in there. can use them with any mounted chip i want with the wagos - double up my driver utility!I'll take 10 in lower k
Just Googled the above.... sweet looking soldering irons very niceNo problems here soldering 18 solid to any cob ive ever tried. not an expert but i have a digital weller station, was under $100
so you really do have some cobs lmao.for the love of god bobby, take the stickerz off those heatsinks,ya cant send em back now hahaha.2 x 5000k 1825s about to veg out (one 70cri, one 80cri... just what i have laying around), will prob run them about 80-100W each. driver maxes out at 113W per cob @ 166 lm/W for the 80 cri, 176 for the 70 cri.
