I still believe it's cooler leaf temps being the culprit...........can we get some distance #s from the light sources OHD?

The Vero 18's are 14" from canopy, the 600 MH is 42" from the plants
Temps 75-78 in the led tent. If anything the led has the temp advantage with lettuce being a cool weather crop and that tent running a few degrees cooler than my veg area where the MH plants are

Idk.. . ... I'm stumped....... maybe lower the veros too ten, eight inches for a couple of days and see what happens?........... for "science", lol

Ok, Day six of the swap and this will be the final update of the Vero18 attempt as they will no longer be in my garden
Hardly acceptable for lettuce growing

what do you think coud be wrong about the vero 18..or do you figure any cob for lettuce?
I am not sure, results were similar under the mono panel before which is leading me to believe it is more spectrum related than cob specific.
That is what I am trying to figure out but clearly most around here are not interested beyond a light source that "grows weed dude"
So, I have a bunch of diodes coming and will be making my secret sauce mono setup to try :hump:

interesting that something can "grow weed dude" and not "grow lettuce dude"

anyway..your threads and posts are dang good..

"secret sauce mono setup"..oh yeh!!
It seems that conclusion that has been reached is that cannabis is much more adaptable to different light diets than many types of plants. Lettuce apparently being one of them
I have no science to back it up but I suspect if one could satisfy lettuce and then increase that intensity to cannabis ranges you would have weed that is much better than under the current cob trend.

dunno....we are not growing boston style lettuce..
we also are not comparing to hps because we haven't done a side by side..
but yet..160 w over 4 x 4 works ok ..actually they all grow greens ok ..some more elegantly

While I'm waiting for my led beads to make it off the boat to make my secret sauce mod on this light I thought I would run a little test for a few days just to see how some lettuce reacts to it
All the same started under Metal Halide, two on left went to the led
