Going from HPS to LED. Worth it?

You don't mix your coco with perlite? I usually go 50/50 and it's really airy and light.

the times i used it i did, coarse perlite, about 60/40.

ok yea that's different i'm talking about a bag of gold label or pure coco cut with equal parts course perlite, works perfect as a hydroponics substitute you cannot overwater, it's completely void of nutrients.

That's the thing. You can't overater coco by pouring too much in it at once, it drains it out, but watering too frequently will drown the roots and waterlog the plant. That is what I mean by overwatering.

Nah coco's not like that, when you water it will only hold so much then you get run off, your roots don't rot because coco has a lot higher oxygen holding capacity than peat. And you don't flood the plant too much it's called drain to waste hydroponics. 10-20% run off.

Dude, CC just told you the same thing. In DWC, you have oxygenated water, but if you are hand watering and watering too frequently, you can suffocate the roots, which was my point all along.

Yeah i'm talking about good quality coco like I linked cut with coarse perlite, I know a lot of people using it like that and having great results. There's even good growers on this forum doing it go check out greengene's grow he uses coco with autofeeders.

You guys must never heard of a sip(sub irrigated planter) then, it wicks water up from a rez below it and doesn't have any bubble stone or anything in it, check it out , hydroponic organic, put brokashi in the rez with water keep it full and its always soaked, you can use a bale of promix.

There's a few people using SIP's on this forum I think theres a SIP thread on the organic section, your medium is wet 100% of the time, wicks from bottom up and you fill that tube.

So like I said all along, frequent watering can cause any overwatering in coco coir/fiber because the roots are being deprived of air and getting a lotcif water. That plant of Porky's is moderately to severely overwatered. It can come back, he just needs to stop watering so frequently.

it is soaked, but the soil is airy/fluffy even if wet bc it hasn't been top washed into a dirt brick. hempys are cool, i remember when i posted a diy on it in 2004
