realistically... how many 600w de's could these 14,000 btu dual hose portable a/c units handle? also same question with the 1000w de? a buddy is interested in a room upgrade. thanks.

Depends on ceiling height, room size, how many fans and temp of the room without anything running.
Gavita states that the 1000w de needs 3500-4000 BTUs /light.

Its a 9x11, but it isn't my room. Trying to work within a 3k budget. He already has 3000 watts hps but literally needs everything else. If I could drop a 5 ton in I would. Gavitas may have to wait.

I would put the 1000 watt DE more at 4500btu's a 18,000 btu handles 3 perfectly,24,000 for 4 and so on.

Agreed, 4,500btu gives you some head room. It would cover lights, dehumifiers, fans, etc.
