I have been using a mixture of happy frog and ocean forest half and half for most of the plants cycle. I'm really thinking about switching to pro mix micro. Has anyone used and can confirm that my choice would be the right one. I have had no trouble with what I have been using just want to change.

Pro mix xp as well. Find it at Menard's Lowes price. 5.50 for 2 qubic foot or if your feeling froggy they have the bigger bags that hurt my back . soil is light and fluffy and has some added perlite . depend on your conditions. May not need to ADd any extra perlite. No nutrients mixing with it . you must add. Can use any nutrients you like I use liquid chemical and powder the delutes with water chemical. With out adding any nutrients baby plants still grow about 6 inches tall before u need to feed them.

I use pro mix with the botanicare line. I like the fact that it becomes pretty predictable once you start to dial things in. I grow in 3g pots and I know that 1g of water/nutes saturates the pot with just enough that it wets the bottom of the saucer. I keep the pro mix in a Rubbermaid tote on my balcony and use a light vegging mix to moisten it after it dries out. That ratio is 4 parts dry pro mix to 1 part moistening mix.
One other thing about it. It's very clean to work with. It doesn't have any ewc so it's not dirty if that makes sense. Soiless. Vacuums up very easily.

I've used promix HP as a base for organic soil and it worked great. Just add worm castings + dry fert like epsoma tomato.
