True, but it is inflated money, it won't increase their standard of living.Increased wages means more money in the average persons pocket, what do people do with extra money? Spend it.
Need I say more ?
How will it not? If an extra 200 a week provides more food/gas/ toys for kids/educational opportunities for said kids/ medical bills since the state doesn't provide that, how does that not increase their standard of living?True, but it is inflated money, it won't increase their standard of living.
It will temporarily, but by increasing it you're devaluing it because there's more money to purchase from the same supply pool. How will it not? Very simple. Inflation will eat up that 200 a week. Gas, food , toys will all increase in price. I've seen this over and over during the past 45 years. How will it not? If an extra 200 a week provides more food/gas/ toys for kids/educational opportunities for said kids/ medical bills since the state doesn't provide that, how does that not increase their standard of living?
So that lends credibility to the fact that more poor/working class people supported Trump than Clintoncould be. during the primaries they pegged it around $72k. when i went county by county, the poorest counties had the biggest swings towards trump. but some of the wealthier counties that swung to clinton were still won by trump, just not by as much as romney.
Yes more typical Republican voters. So that lends credibility to the fact that more poor/working class people supported Trump than Clinton
WHERE do they spend it? At other businesses- and their demand drives growth.Increased wages means more money in the average persons pocket, what do people do with extra money? Spend it.

Electric self driving shuttle buses are running downtown in my city now, with plenty more low hanging fruit. My guess, in 3 yrs.15 or so % of muni. transp. workers will be gone round here. Not to worry tho. With the Mexicans pushed out, our citizens will, no doubt, flock to fill those commercial chicken coop cleaning positions for minimum. That was proven the case in Ala. and Ga. recently. Wasn't it?and self driving cars and SEMI Trucks is happening NOW, imagine all the men out of work
Congrats! You created a thread that showcased your unique blend of mean-spiritedness and stupidity.
as long as you discount the 94% of black women who voted for hillary as not poor, or not "working class".more poor/working class people supported Trump than Clinton
Inflation is artificially controlled by the government, unless it goes crazy....It will temporarily, but by increasing it you're devaluing it because there's more money to purchase from the same supply pool.
Minimum wage should be pegged to inflation rather than using it as a campaign device with an arbitrarily high $$$ value attached.
are you literally high on coke zero right now?Inflation is artificially controlled by the government, unless it goes crazy....
In the Carter years the inflation rate was 20%. I bet everyone would be lining up for a minimum wage job then.... Shitty economy and go from 15 bucks an hour to 18 bucks an hour regulated by government.... Lulz.... Fastest way to destroy the economy I could think of....
Not even stealing the fry cook jobs, just the idiot till people...Damn kiosk's are stealing all our good jobs.
Look, I'm not going to lie and pretend I'm for raising minimum wage. I don't believe minimum wage does anything at all for workers... but imo, getting machines to do jobs humans used to do means nobody has to do those shitty jobs anymore. (better for humanity as a whole) In an ideal world, nobody would have a job, everyone could just stay at home and play all day, and they'd get free mcdonalds whenever they want. Not even stealing the fry cook jobs, just the idiot till people...
Been like that in Amsterdam for years.
And then when the increasing number of people without jobs complain about their situation and their children's situations do you bitch about the Democrats giving them "free stuff"?Look, I'm not going to lie and pretend I'm for raising minimum wage. I'm sure they'll find better use of their time. Doing work machines could easily perform is a waste of life. (unless it's a hobby)And then when the increasing number of people without jobs complain about their situation and their children's situations do you bitch about the Democrats giving them "free stuff"?
