A lot of Americans know it's a problem. A lot of other American's love to feel tough and don't understand the consequences of gun ownership for citizens.

They're the kind of people that picture themselves stopping a bank robbery, they don't imagine the more common scenario where their kids find the gun in the closet and accidentally shoot each other playing with it.

Or they're the type that thinks the government is gonna take over someday and they need a gun to protect themselves from tyranny. These people are idiots. First off, I don't care how many guns you stockpile, you can't stop an army. Second off, capitalism is what stops tyranny. The machine has to keep moving.

The rest of us are just terrified and can't get the gun people to listen reason. So we've been legalizing weed state by state to deal with the stress of constantly being under threat of being shot.

You don't understand the consequences of NOT owning guns, I don't picture myself stopping a bank robbery, I picture myself stopping a home invasion (mine). Don't tell me it doesn't happen often, the neighbor was robbed last month. You can't stop an army? Tell the Vietcong that.

Totally feel you dog...But statistically, gun ownership is more likely to result in a rash suicide decision or accidental shooting then you preventing a home invasion. And you having access to a gun to protect yourself means I also have access to a gun to rob you. So if you can't shoot for shit and all I do is go to the gun range and pick locks all day, what good is gun ownership?

But I do get your point. I have guns for the same reason. But I know I'm playing a dice game with what that gun actually gets used for. You know I'm right friend!

The stats you're talking about come from idiots who buy a gun with NO experience and never even test fire it. Just cause i don't have legal access doesn't mean the punk doesn't have a gun.

Numbers don't lie, and like I said, I have guns friend, I don't have a stake in being antigun. I just like to look at things realistically.

And yes, you not having legal access to a gun means a criminal is less likely to have a gun. Some will still have access yes. But the likelihood of you being robbed by an armed assailant is tenfold when guns are legal. Yes you're less able to protect yourself if guns are illegal. but the odds the you will have to are dramatically smaller. And you can still have a sword friend, that's how a man protects his family.
