Why should he be a 'true friend' of Israel?.
Netanyahu humiliated Biden on a visit to Israel by announcing a settlement expansion, campaigned against him on Romney's behalf in '12 and denounced him on the floor of Congress over his deal with Iran, yet you think Obama should treat him like a long lost bro & Israel as a 'special case'.?
I think he might have been a true friend to Israel by snubbing Netanyahu.

Why should any of our Presidents feel beholden to Israel?

Didn't we push the British for them to get their state, help save them from annihilation in WW2 and give them billions of dollars worth of free military hardware every year?

If anything they probably owe us a solid at this stage.

I can see the conflict from both sides but the oppressor can never be justified in his oppression.

Israel has been an ally for a long time. I support our allies, to a point.

sure, if by genocide you mean the exact opposite of genocide.

That's true. it's important to ignore genocide so that you can pick on some jews.
I'm not picking on some Jews, I am picking on most Israeli Jews, that have chosen a PM that has publically stated there will never be a Palestine under his watch. He is the longest serving PM in the history of Israel, and has overwhelming support by the Jews in Israel, if not the world.
That's who, or what I have a problem with.
And going back to genocide, what would you call the bombing of Gaza, and the death toll of over a thousand women and children?
I call that genocide, if not outright murder.

I think eventually a two state compromise will emerge. Until then it'll remain a hardball (game). That said I disagree with the US abstaining at the vote. Don't abandon or betray your allies. I think Obama's not been a true friend to Israel and I think Trump will be. Politics makes strange bedfellows.
Israel doesn't want a two state solution, never did and never will. All they want is to keep the monkeys in a cage. and take every piece of land they can get away with
The US vote in the UN was the 1st good thing that the US ever did to bring a peace to that area, and Israel is no friend of anyone, like name one beside the suckers in this country?
Go ahead, name one.

I read an article the other day that suggested that a full 50% of Israeli citizens do not support settlements in occupied territory.

Not unlike America, the govt there isn't always representative of its citizens.

Dear Jews and Muslims,

I ask that you reject your religious beliefs and accept Jesus into your hearts so we can all celebrate Christmas together. There are presents from Santa Claus so it is a good deal for everyone.

Peace,
Bugeye
It's nice two know you reject the foundations that this country was founded on, real patriotic. Is that what Jesus would say?
Poor bud die, you suck at life and are a sorry excuse of a Christian.

Yes, I'm still having trouble with the Christian premise of an all powerful god needing to have a son die on planet earth so those that believe can have forgiveness for their sins. Can you explain the logic of that to me?

But I am down for the presents, big fun for the kids.
