i think when the dust has settled the pecking order will look something like
gen 6 3618
gen 5 3618=cxm 32 = gen6 1825
gen 5 1825 =vero 72V = cxm 27
cxm 22=gen 6 1818
gen 5 1818=vero 50V= vero 36V
cxb3590=gen6 1212
gen5 1212

just a guess, and thats just on efficiency

economy would prob look more like
cxm22
gen6 1212
vero 50V
gen6 1825
.

Kind of a vague question, how much money would be saved per month running the cxm22s at 700ma vs 1400ma? Assuming 6 cobs, 18hrs a day, 30 days? 17 cents/kWh

Been struggling on figuring out if it's worth going more cobs less amps for efficiency

a good rule of thumb is efficiency goes up 10% when you cut the number of cobs in half

so applying that rule to 6x1400 ma (assuming 12x 700 ma is hte other option)

300W = 0.3 kW x 18 hr x 30 day= 162 kWh/month

162 kWh x 0.17 = $27.54/mionth

at the same PAR output youd save $2.75/month or $33/year. would take about 3 years to pay off the extra 6 cobs

on the flip side, using the same amount of power every month youd have more light with the 12 cobs, what does 10% more light give you? would 10% more harvest 5-6 times a year pay for itself?

Last question!

Drivers are expensive, are there any 2 drivers that can power the following:

Can accommodate both scenarios: 6 cobs at 1400ma, and 12 at 700ma? Obviously it would be dimmable.

Hlg-600H-48A or 54B could run dozen cobs easy, or even more cobs
The 48a version could run 17-18 at 700ma, and the 54B could run 16 at 700ma
You could run a dozen at higher current or dim to 700ma or even lower

But what I want to do is run 6 @ 1400ma, then expand later into 12 @ 700ma and still be able to use same drivers if that makes sense

Oh god those drivers are so expensive. I got to downsize this a bit bleh.

Hey guys seeing as how the other thread was locked ... Can anyone help?

I am looking to put together a build for a 3.3'x3.3' tent. this is going to be 3500k for veg/flower and in the future i want to build a flowering-only setup.

But for now, I'm looking for the latest and greatest COBs. I'm a big newb so any guidance at all on what would work well for my space in terms of specific COBs and actual configuration is helpful.

HLG-320H-54B can run 6@1.0amp, or 12 @500ma

What's the point of diminishing returns?
I run 12 (cxb3590s)cobs in a 2x4 space on 2 HLG-240 drivers dimmed to 375 watts at the wall.
I turn it up higher if the temps alloow and plants are ok with it.
I want the most I can get from my small space.
I can pull over a lb in this space with this setup, the CXM22 are supposed to be better than the CXB so I am making a new light with them for another 2x4 tent.
I could run 200 watts in there and pull 10-12 oz probably, but why not push the limit I say.

In soil and scrog? You use any nutes?

Any tips?

Scrog is organic soil.
Im new to organic, scrogs, and cobs, but they all work together well and make it seem like I know what I am doing.
This run no scrog, just some plants in cloth pots thrown in a tent, so we'll see what happens this time

Mine use tape lol
i got a bender and wirth sample, they look workable, i personaly dont use reflectors, but i just dont know if i can sell enough CXM27 to take the plunge, as a lot of people would poo-poo any holder that has no provision for reflectors

time to get a 3D printer and get creative i guess ;)

some people are constrained by space for physical or legal reasons

in this case yield per square foot trumps yield per watt. while it isnt as "efficient" the return from extra product quickly covers the extra electric bill
