You can't get seeds from any LP so that's the end of that.
Can Canadians with medical license buy there own seeds to grow

It makes no statement at all as to where we must obtain seeds or clones. The word seed is mentioned 82x in the document and not one of those mentions is in relation to us having to purchase somewhere specific. Also unlike in their media release there is no mention at all of "starting materials" in the legislation itself. http://laws.justice.gc.ca/PDF/SOR-2016-230.pdf

Exactly! So press release or not, the law is the law. Therein lies the grey area of where to get materials and if it does not say that you must obtain from an LP then the sky is the limit.

Yes, pretty much. Read over it carefully though as there is some tricky wording in it that could catch people up if the law really wanted to be asshats, such as "16 (1) It is prohibited to seek or obtain fresh or dried marihuana, cannabis oil or marihuana plants or seeds from more than one source at a time on the basis of the same medical document". However if you do not use your medical document to order seeds would you really be in violation of this if you obtained seeds from more than one source ?
Like most people here I say get your starting materials where ever you can find what works for you and if you want seeds instead of clones your only choice is the grey market.

Not sure... was in the sealed container.. I noticed when I was down to the bottom. So I called health canada, they insist that we must get starting material from an LP, I technically got them from my LP... I spoke at length on the phone with the guy asking if I would be OK to plant said seeds once my paperwork comes, he said yes.

Health Canada can say whatever they want over the phone, the fact is that the legislation does not make that claim and in the courts all that matters is the legislation not their feelings of beliefs.

I am with canntrust. I obtained the seeds from one source. I will plant them this spring after my paperwork comes and I'll make a journal for you guys to follow if you want.

no one will be able to tell an LP seed from a non LP seed.
SO I would get growing and forget about the legality of your starting materials,,,,for the most part.
Have your story worked out....or a receipt from your supplier....
sorry to those stuck in the program buying from LP's.....especially the one poisoning their clients....

The worst thing about this is that laws in general were brought in to prevent harm to others. How does preventing possession/growing pot prevent harm to anyone?
By growing and possessing my own pot that I need for my own medical needs I help prevent the proliferation of of illegal gang activity. The government has created a new class of gangs by licensing these Legal Producers that are trying to dominate the production and sale of a simple herb.
By buying into the regulations our gov't has set up and purchasing anything from LPs we are perpetuating a new and gov't sanctioned gang culture.
This is no different that what has been going on for decades regarding any of the things that corporate interests have set their sights on to maximize profits. Oil, drugs, tobacco, pulp and paper and fast foods are just a few examples.
Every alternative to corporate interests is spun to be harmful by our own governments that are elected to protect us from harm. The US leads the world in protecting corporate interests over individual rights and has done so with millions of deaths for the last two centuries. Since the first explorations of Columbus if truth be told.
The New World Order, NWO, is not a conspiracy theory but the goal of most dominant governments today. Micro chips in your child, your medications, your sweat are already easily done. The cashless society is almost there to keep track of every penny you spend and who you spend it with, Pay with PayPal, credit cards etc? The NSA etal knows all about it. Doesn't mean that they are coming to get you but leaves a "paper trail" that they will follow should you ever come to their attention.
And for all you "smart phone" users that use them to upload pics to sites like this. Turning off your location/gps keeps that info off the pics you upload but it all goes into the "web" and can be tracked back by gov't services like the NSA.
I use TOR and anonymous email addys to hide my real identity so I can freely share my experience of 40 years of cannabis culture. I've been doing this for the last 10 years on a half dozen forums. On one I am an Admin and another just a Mod. I get not a dime from either nor accolades, but gladly donate my time and experience to promote Cannabis Culture and growing techniques to new growers.
I also have almost 50 blood donations under my belt so get out there and do whatever you can can to support your fellow humans in any way you can! Drag a homeless guy off the street and buy him a real meal. Pick up the crap your drunk-ass neighbour tossed around. Shovel the snow off the nasty old broad's sidewalk.
God is debatable but Kharma is a bitch. Stay on the good side of both by helping out out your fellow man/women/child in whatever little bit you can.
It's easy to be angry and offensive because you're butt-hurt but just look inside and deal with those anger issues so that you don't project that onto every interaction that you deal with in forums or in your real life.
