My guess is they'll be about R6000-R7000 for the complete setup with everything you need. That would be a good price I think as most of the hydro shops sell rubbish for that price in Jozi and CT. Seen rubbish 1000W ballasts selling for R4000+ and then you still need a hood and bulbNice one bud, how much do they go for where you live? I wounder what the S.A price will be as things always sky rockets as if the economy is a part of NASA lol.
Damn that is quite expensive! I guess I will opt for building one or have a buddy build it for me.My guess is they'll be about R6000-R7000 for the complete setup with everything you need. I made the switch from cfls to LED and all i can say is that its alot better than the cfls. Less heat more light. Thanks bud, I still have a pure sativa in the outside greenhouse box along with some other girls.
Regarding stronger or better lighting, I plan to use those big CFLs of 84watt each as the HPS system draws too much power.
Would it be better to go with LED in terms of energy saving?
I would never ever ever run 1200w of cfl though. Bit puzzled as to how they could be on a similar par?HID and CFL are both roughly equivalent in terms of efficiency. LED is generally much better than either, especially COB LED or Quantum Boards.
They produce very nearly the same Par per Watt.I would never ever ever run 1200w of cfl though. Bit puzzled as to how they could be on a similar par?
Thanks bud, I hope she smokes as nice as she looks lol. Regarding temp, I previously had high temps and had problems with heat (slow growth and foxtailing, slow trichome production) These were my experiences and it was confirmed by a few. I now have my temps between 25 to 28 degrees celsius. However my yield was much bigger, only much less fruitful... Not a gamble Im willing to take again.Looking good man. I'm no expert so cannot comment on finishing time but very good looking plant there.
I see your Temps are around 27 degrees. Mine is pretty much the same. Do you think the slightly highe temps affect yield much?
I was around 31 degrees when I was running cfls but now my Temps are at 25-28.
Yeah thanks bud, the girl on the left looks about 3 more weeks to go and the girl to the right should be done by next week sometime. Just need to keep checking trichomes.I'd say you are about right with your summation. First lot of pics are looking good to go. Last pic looks like it needs a while longer indeed.
I don't think you should be counting them. I think you should look at the percentage or coverage of milky to amber trichomes.Never really bothered checking trichomes myself. Plants have far to.many to count. I tend to go by the overall look as trichomes react differently with different strains as well.
Pulling earlier tends to give a racier high, while pulling later tends to be more of a heavy stone with more cannabinoids. These are general guidelines and of course strain and environment play significant roles.Never really bothered checking trichomes myself. Plants have far to.many to count. It was a bit of a joke tbh. I always giggle when people come out with...."oh it was 30%clear 60% milky and 10% amber".........really, you counted every Trichome on every part of the plantI don't think you should be counting them. I think you should look at the percentage or coverage of milky to amber trichomes.
lol haha yeah I get what you mean bud, it is quite fascinating how people tend to "calculate" the different stages the trichomes are in according to their percentages. I also go by the overall look of the plant but mainly check trichomes when assessing the finishing stages. It was a bit of a joke tbh. Yep, I have noticed that this also is strain and environment dependent. Some strains are harvested earlier or later also depending on grower preference. I have a buddy that harvested his supercheese when it was clear and milky. No amber whatsoever but damn did that girl reek!! She was done according to him and man oh man, she was excellent!!Pulling earlier tends to give a racier high, while pulling later tends to be more of a heavy stone with more cannabinoids.
