UV led?. should I or just add more cob?

I really want to find the answer to the question of UV light adding more THC to the plants..but would I get better results adding more watts in cobs? or would that just be bigger plants?..

I don't want to increase yield so much as THC.. I want to try to grow strains that have been known to have high THC and then try to promote it with the best environment.

if UV light being added does increase THC. then what NM range should I try and at what wattage for one plant?

I was thinking of using an Ebay special. (unless someone can suggest a better source) LED uv light.

the lowest nm i can find is 360nm and the highest is 415nm.. would 360 be to much and burn the plant?. if not should I try that?. or should I try closer to the age old 420 number...(420nm) which is almost blue more than violet.

that or add another CXA or vero 29 at 3500K 90cri. driven at about 100W's or if its vero 150ish i might go citi though and do a 1818 at 150...

I am on the same road as you , figuratively speaking. I was looking into Mercury vapors, and Metal halides and hid uv bulbs wit iron iodide in them . After all this looking settled on a 10k finisher bulb from solar max, not what I wanted , it only has 30% uv I wanted much higher. But we will see. I will let you know how it goes if you do the same

i had a t5 with an actinic and a 10,000K but i think the ballast is gone. it was cheap like 30 bucks for the whole thing. .. but id like some more uv light.. like to represent a hot summers day in Africa or right on the equator.. would 380nm work?.. and are LEDs actually a real version of UV light?.

I am very new to the LED game but from my research UV leds are expensive don't work that well and are not durable. 120$ for 3.6w's. I honestly have no idea what UV wavelengths are important.

The updated story ,I have managed to set up my uv light. Interesting result so far. I just test fired it for about 5 seconds to make sure all my timers and relays and fuses were set up and operational. I noticed over the next few minutes that the plants in week 2 of flower seemed awfully rigid. The leaves pointing up an turgid. Thais after a 5 second startup exposure . An interesting result for sure.

Funny thing between my 730 nm leds and my uv light I think I can make my plants do a slow version of the YMCA dance

This is correct! Ask me how I know LOL
I think I read a thread you posted in where a guy did a test with his new pure uv bulb. He said, "well it's been 7 hours now and the leaves look waxy and have drooped big time. By morning the plant should be completely fried" lol!

just get a uv fluorescent like agromax. one bulb can do a large area. start with a few hours a day. less is more or you'll burn them
i have a 4x4 space with 16 cobs(1 per sq ft @35-40 watts each during flower). i have 4 bars with 4 cobs on each giving me 3 spaces between the 4 bar strips. i was thinking about getting the 4 ft uv agromax bulbs to fit in the spaces between the bars... will 3, 4ft. bulbs be too much UV for my 4x4 grow space? or should i only use 2? @CobKits

I would start with one and see what happens

@CobKits sometimes my lights are hung low at lower wattage like 10-14 inches from canopy?...if i have the agromax bulbs raised higher than i keep my cob fixture then the uv light would be hitting the top of my pin heat-sinks and overall cob frame im hanging. How high should i have the two 4-ft agros? Im guessing if i have t raise the cob fixture to accommodate the other lights height, i can just turn up the wattage on the cobs?
