The truth is we are supporting monsters around the world, even to the point of overthrowing democratically elected governments.

The idea that we are the world's policeman, helping democracies emerge around the world is a complete fiction. The list of murderous despots we have and continue to press cheeks with is embarrassingly long.

Letting the monied elite run our political system is how we became the imperial power we are now rightly perceived to be around the world.

Our founding fathers lectured us sternly against allowing this to happen, but we've ignored them.

I know it's a bitter pill to swallow, but it's time to see the truth of the kind of country America has become.

Discuss.

Now you get it, about time you blokes woke up
Its up to the American people to make a difference
Voting will not do anything except keep the status quo
Revolution is the only answer

Socialism must be destroyed for the good of all, for it is inherently evil

No, thank Allah for that, not an American though so its your revolution
My country is a socialist shit hole like yours, but worse
America is the big dog of the world, it needs to change so others can follow it

enlighten me genius.

this should be fun
Well according to you, we need socialism so we can have police, fire service and schools
All that stuff was available, long before socialism took over
No point for any enlightenment until you can grasp the basic concepts of politics

i'll type slower so you can understand:

publicly funded and government run police, fire and schools are Socialism.

if it were privately funded, do you think the schools, fire or police would be as good in a poor neighborhood as they would in a rich neighborhood.

America is a healthy mix of Socialism and Capitalism. Has been and probably always will be.

That's ok you can enjoy your socialized slavery, its not my revolution its the American peoples
Dude,

How many millions would die in a US revolution? No thanks. Can you point to a country where a militant revolution, aka civil war, actually made things better for the general public.

The real problem in this country is that we aren't socialized enough.

You don't even know what socialism is, let alone what it stands for today
socialism didn't start in America, there Is a whole other world outside the USA
in 1913 the USA(your so-called president did it for you)decided it was going to be a socialist country, did you get a vote lol
You lot have been slowly enslaved since in mountains of debt

Nah, I read in the paper (one of those little "what do you think?" pieces where they print your picture and up to 100 characters) that "America is just flexing it's muscles because we have gotten a little flabby." If you stop propping up dictators, you lose that ability and won't be able to prop them up when you really need one.

Of course, terrorism makes it far more complicated. A lot of people look back on the Cold Wart as 'when America was great'. There really was no standard as far as how bad a hombre a dictator had to be as long as they were willing to fight communism or anything resembling it. Now we do the same as long as they are not funding terrorism. We really should have known - did know, in fact - that this was coming. All those Cold War dictators suppressed Islam as much as they could. Shit was going to happen and will continue to happen - but maybe we should not have been the only ones with our finger in the dike. That's what a few planes crashing into a few buildings gets you.

Funny you should say that. Kind of proof positive that those functions are privately funded.

how so? where i went to high school, we had zipcodes that were extremely wealthy and some dirt poor yet the school itself was one of the top in the state. everybody got the benefit of being a public school funded thru tax dollars.

i can see your point in some aspects where rich people might donate more than poor to a police dept and i guarantee that the response times would be a bit quicker in the richer neighborhoods. that's not a function of socialism, that's reality.
