Ive been runnings 5 gallons for a couple indoor harvests my temps and everything are more then fine and lighting but they take forever to dry out! so should i just use 3 gallons? i only veg for 4 weeks.
I use 3-5-7s and they each need daily watering!

This question is subjective, heavily determined by skill/knowledge.

Too much info to answer with, I generally run 5's and those need water every day from ~10 days into bloom (even GSC is now pushing for the 7). Some strains need 7's (watered daily), some need 15's (watered daily), Average finished height ranges from 5'-8', 4-5 weeks veg. The largest I've had to use was a 20 gal, GG4x my "Mystery".
Exactly!

Two 6liter pots for Veg and then two 5gal square pots before flower. 2x2x4 tent.
Roots started coming out the bottom week one of flower. Super white. I recommend ha. Photo 1 is day 16 of flower, photo 2 is day 7 I can't remember

Why do you want them to dry out faster? I figured most would prefer to water less often? I'm not one, but still. I didn't do well with soil and watering "when the pot was light". I mean, that's exactly what I did, but I didn't like it. Wasn't routine enough for me. Plants needed water at different times, etc. My plants suffered from it.

I switched to coco, watered/fed daily. No issues. Faster growth and healthier plants.

That said, with all the sizes I've run up to 5 gal, I feel 5 is best overall. In my experience, anything smaller has the potential to require multiple feedings daily. Had that issue in soil, have it worse now in coco with 1,3 & 5 gallon pots going. 5 gal is good for 24 hrs, 3 gal gets fed at 6am & 6pm, 1 gal is suspended 1" deep into a bucket of bubbled nutes because she requires 3-4 feedings/day and I just can't do it. lol

Oh, I only veg for 4 weeks too but nature handles that as I'm running auto's.

You won't know what's best for you until you try. :bigjoint:

you get more buds when they go through the wet dry cycle more frequently. dont be lazy and plant in a big pot to water less often or youll get a more bushy plant that yeilds less top buds. its all about how you want to do it. If you want to water less you could add some compost to the coco and itll hold more water. Me, I add perlite, and compost.

I have learned that the gallons of water run through a plant does not equate to yeild. You can yeild well without so much water just transpirating away through leaves. some plants using a 7 gal soaked and drying up every day wont yeild like a 3 gal watered daily.

You kinda just said the same thing there in different wording lol (both plants need daily watering).

If you need to water a 7 gallon every day during flower you better believe that plant will outyield the 3 gallon pot.

Don't forget the difference here is veg time, and a 7 gallon plant is MUCH bigger then a 3 gallon plant, i run both 3 & 7 gallon pots indoor.

but 7 gals watered daily yeild less than a few more 3 gals in the same space watered daily. Way less leaves and just transpiration, more buds. ive never gotten a huge yeilder in a 3 gal and I dont get great gpw numbes ever, either im the only honest one or im behing the curve on yeilds.

What is the desired yeild for each pot size? Id guess 4 oz for a 3 gal, 5-7 for a 5 gal, and 8-20 for a 7 gal?

You can grow a wide plant for 20 oz in a 7 gal but thats different than a bunch of 3 gals

for a 7 gallon pot you cant really do more than 4-5 plants in a 4x4 tent. and they may yeild 8 oz each on a good year. same space can hold alot more 3 gal pots.

Where did you get the impression I needed advice? That guy is a moron and said really stupid shit like "98% of quality is finishing th plant without problems" "you cant get quality without the yeild" "if you yeilded well then its quality bud" ALL BS.
