Sorry, I think you might have missed it..
hey, pad

I'm so glad you see you around. I've been meaning to ask you, well, I have asked but I guess you just forgot. I heard you are now professing membership in a men's rights movement. Can you explain to me the difference between men's rights and women's rights? This is keeping me up at night and I'd really like to better understand this new and amazing civil rights movement.

Thankyouverymuch

There have been many men's rights groups, none have a very good track record.
Really? NONE? That's a sweeping statement. I disagree;

This one turned out pretty well.

The point I'm making is that identity politics without context leads to dead ends.

I'm aware that men's groups have been used for ill purposes. But then, cars have been used to rob banks. Is that a good reason to make everyone walk?

Y'all are coming perilously close to trying to decide amongst yourselves who can advocate for their rights and who can't. And yes, I have a problem with that kind of thinking.

He didn't miss it. He ignored it in the hope that he could distract you with his drivel.

As long as he keeps chasing Oriole away from his 'pure' Democrats, the longer it will be before either he or they will be taken seriously.

It's time to talk issues and policy. Identity politics is a fool's game and our country has already been gamed by the fools who play it at the national level.

Yes, great example of a men's right group. Too bad it took another two hundred years for equal rights. Women could have done a better on a whole, jmo.

Wasn't Thomas Jefferson among others, a slave owner?

In order to win elections, do you think Democrats should be more moderate/centrist and move to the right on the political spectrum, or do you think they should be more liberal/progressive and move to the left?

Or, do you believe a different strategy will be more successful?
I think you should listen to your guy, Bernie:

"The truth is that in some conservative states there will be candidates that are popular candidates who may not agree with me on every issue. I understand it. That's what politics is about,"
http://www.npr.org/2017/04/20/524962482/sanders-defends-campaigning-for-anti-abortion-rights-democrat

I think the Democratic Party electorate should decide who to run for office using primary systems with low cost of entry and in those primaries, let the Democratic voters choose the candidates with the best ideas and connection to that community. They should be the one who runs against opposition parties. Isn't that what Bernie is saying here too?

I think the idea of a one-size-fits-all strategy across the country is anti-democratic.

didn't they deny the right to vote to women?
They also deliberately left the door open to changing the document going forward, leading to emancipation, women's suffrage and much more. That's because they knew that neither they nor their creation was perfect and that future generations would continue to improve it.

But I guess your excuse for logic demands that everything must be perfect to have any merit at all. I think that's immature thinking.

I cannot believe you'd try to hold the signers of the Declaration of Independence up as an example of a bad group.

Your slippery slope has just been greased! Your inability to compromise has left you unfit to lead anything more relevant than a gaggle of judgemental louts.

Good luck with that!

So you're going to jump on the same bandwagon of judgement from ignorance of historical context and declare even the great as the enemy of the 'perfect' and therefore unacceptable?

Come on. I know you aren't THAT stupid.

pad is running away from this issue and you are running to it, so I'll ask you and not the coward.

What's the difference between men's rights and women's rights?

Other than history? Nothing at all. Everyone needs and rights are equally important.

Thanks for understanding my point.

I do understand your point. So, there is a men's rights movement today, Pad is a notable member of this. Were you aware of this men's right's movement? Are you a member yourself?
