He basically got hustled by a so called friend on some supposedly real deal diesel clones..... I've got an amazing diesel strain I grow regularly ....it's straight Citrus fuel once it's cured.....

I am actually going to pull off a bunch of fan leaves today -- but only because they are mostly dead. This strain begins to defoliate itself about halfway through flower. When leaves go from yellow to brown, it's time to get rid of them.

I like to keep the bottoms of my plants nice and clean so it's easier to water and top dress....that's about the only time il pull a healthy leaf off a plant ....and when I do this were talkin 8 to 10 foot monsters that won't miss em ....mine are starting to fade and drop leafs as well.....I only remove leafs that take little to no effort to pluck off.....I know awesome growers who defoliate.....but this fuckin idiot saying he takes all his leafs and doesn't allow any fan leafs to survive beyond 2 weeks is ludacris and a terrible attempt at trolling....but a new grower will believe that asshole ....sad

If I were you I'd add lots more perlite to your soil next time....make sure your soil/medium is completely dry before you water ...besides that topping that plant would be the only thing I'd do .......GL

Over watering will fuck you up every time. I've been doing this a while and still fuck up occasionally. Hell, I was going to feed my plants yesterday and decided to break out the ol digital moisture meter just to make sure they were ready -- and they didn't need anything. And they won't need any today either because it's cool & cloudy.

we all learn mate, sometimes the hard way. Like Bugeye said "It's your first grow,not your last, don't worry about it, keep learning and enjoying the experience." and he's right in that respect.

Me personally i never pull or cut off fan leaves, don't wanna stump a plant or kill where it get its energy in a since at. I let mine fall off naturally, some people call it defoliation, i just call it shedding, as the plant gets older it will start doing that cause all the energy is at the top and in the flowering when it does it. Just have fun with them, let the grow naturally first this way you get what the little ones can do for you, and then move into different section...patience is a major key...GL and keep it green mate

Absolutely you can! It's a very effective way to get your plants to stay short and produce more nodes. Very controversial subject, I'm on the side that says hell yeah and defoliate threw veg and bloom. I've been on the side that says don't chop fan leaves until I tried it myself and I'll never go back. My fan leaves never see more than about 2 weeks life. I now grow for a dispenser and maintain about 50 to a 100 plants per every cycle. Every 2 weeks my plants get defoliated, every plant gets topped twice once when clones set root and again about two weeks after. 1 month veg end up with 4 to 6 ounces of medical grade dence buds per plant and double the ounces at 2 month veg. After your plants do their final and largest veg phase that most call stretch, fan leaves are on the road to slowly dying, you take that energy strain off the plants back and she'll reward you for it.

Well strain is a strain. It can be a nugget or a fist size bud, if grown properly the bud quality will be the same. Defoliation is the practice of creating as much light to each individual bud site, no more week airy buds and no more larfy trash that you really don't even wanna trim. Give Defoliation a shot and see what you think, not going to be all that helpful on a Sativa dominate plant other than keeping it shorter as sativas are usually less leafy anyhow. Remember the droop theory, anytime a plant leaves droop, she's telling you she's not happy about something and it's usually because water is depriving it from air and then you get them odd ununiformily yellowing leaves or blotches.

Guess what. Leaves grow buds. Leaves don't block light they use it.

Oh I'm not taking advise from anybody on here anymore. As far as I'm concerned most people are extra assholes on this site anyways. I've only been a member since Monday and I've seen "well known members" argue with "well known members" and call them names. I've seen Members make fun of newbies and treat them like shit for no reason.I've seen Members strait up starting shit with other members... almost as if their just board of life. I'm thinking almost every thread out there has Members disrespecting one another.

It's all different but exactly the same. You'll notice that most people are arguing about tiny, minor, unimportant things. We may not all agree on every detail but we're all driving on the same freeway. Don't know if that makes sense? Defoliation is fine, transplanting is fine, flushing or not flushing is fine. Ph"ing is fine, not ph'in is fine... just depends on your situation and your style of growing... seems confusing but it's not, you just gotta look stuff up and read. It may not make the most sense when you just read things, but as you start to apply it to real plants you'll realize it's all straight forward common sense.... your boys a fraud though, that's why he left.
