The further up the scale one goes, the more intense the light becomes. Red light isn't very intense, blue is more intense and UVB is the most intense lighting used in horticulture. Unless someone has done a study showing the beneficial effects of cosmic rays on Cannabis resin production? LOL
The scale isn't linear, either; intensity goes up exponentially.
I know some folks, such as
@RM3, who add UV throughout their life cycle, from sprout on up. That's one way to get them accustomed to it. The other way is to harden them off just like tomato starts going outside in the spring.
