UV burn???

Hey is the general consensus, leave a leaf if under 50% damaged, and ones that are over that get rid of?

Seems to make sense to me, so more light can get down in where there are unaffected leaves to look more to those deeper leaves to do the solar panel work now...
 
not ready for harvest, but had a snip of her the other night and got a nice buzz. Quantity has been hampered big time, no new growth since she was fried but at least gunna be of good quality it appears

I know people say we are after uvb but uva works.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that bulb also puts out some UVB.

Good on ya for putting out the word about eye protection. There's gonna be a lot of old growers with macular degeneration in a few years...

It may very well have uvb. I think all of the tubes in blue put out a little uv even if its not listed.

Yes that is the one if used be careful. I wud go very slow, maybe doing a short burst then nothing for few days to gauge results. As I turned mine on on a Tuesday, noticed Friday pistils were browning and just slight cupping and leaf curl sat. Then the Devistation took several more days to show full damage. So procede slowly or use the hortilux w lower dose...

The further up the scale one goes, the more intense the light becomes. Red light isn't very intense, blue is more intense and UVB is the most intense lighting used in horticulture. Unless someone has done a study showing the beneficial effects of cosmic rays on Cannabis resin production? LOL

The scale isn't linear, either; intensity goes up exponentially.

I know some folks, such as @RM3, who add UV throughout their life cycle, from sprout on up. That's one way to get them accustomed to it. The other way is to harden them off just like tomato starts going outside in the spring.
 
I will say that hardening off is easier on a sprout. Take and plant a seed in the sun and it will grow. Start it inside and then move it to the sun it will wilt.

I also will say that I used a couple of the 10k+uva bulbs in a t5 to start tomatoes. I put them straight out in the sun and they were fine.

That's very interesting information, which would tend to confirm a lot of what I've been thinking about UV supplementation indoors.
 
Well been chopping at her a week, lil each night... yeild is way low..... lots of little shit that didnt grow after the fry job... however this is probably most potent iv ever oulled off, shits strong af... :)
 
Makes me think next round just leave em off but once done growing and just ripening give em some shorter hits of these lights... once yeild wouldnt be effected but still back off as to not cook em
