If Bernie didn't want them there, don't you think it would have been easy enough for him to have security deal with them?

Imagine if it had been a Trump rally?
He didn't want them there. They took that stage away. Sanders is no fool. He wasn't going to allow the images of security tussling with those women to become the story of the election. I don't think Sanders is racist per se. He is just another white liberal who is clueless and out of touch when it comes to non-white social issues. He is perfect for Vermont. I'm not sure if he's perfect to lead this country.

wow. jesus, dude..please don't put words in my mouth.

do you ever proof your shit before you press send?
I'm no mind reader and you are no writer, so no apologies for not understanding you. If you really want to be understood, try being more clear and less disjointed.

i'm not saying it..her peers are. any go getting female is auto inducted into Shrillery hall of polarizing women fame..by the he-man women hating senators club.
This is true. Republican congressmen have no idea who they are dealing with. They mansplain, correct and say stupid stuff like "shrill". If it were reality TV that is not really real, it would be funny.

Clinton would have been more of the status quo, the one we were told for 8 years was 'hope and change' and 'good enough'. Not as bad as batshit crazy right wing authoritarian wannabe, but not really better, either.

Better would imply a step in the right direction. The reason she wasn't elected is because not enough people felt she would be better.

It's a subtle but important distinction.

In your use of the term, a pet rock would have been a better choice than the Chump! And I'm not disagreeing with you.

The fact that America elected the Chump tells me that maybe he had to happen so that people would wake up. That wouldn't have happened under a Clinton Mk II presidency.

This is why I think the Chump presents a powerful and unique opportunity to the Progressive Left, one we must not squander if we're to make real progress for the other 90%.
I mostly get what you are saying, but in what sense do you mean by not better than right-wing authoritarian batshit crazy?

He tries to understand, though. I think he would be fine leading this Country. If Trump can do it, literally anyone can.

The first time I heard of Sanders I watched a youtube video. It was a right-wing hit piece accusing him of "praising communism" in a Country I can't recall. It was an interview from 1993, he was discussing the plight of the citizens there. Long story short, he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, he was very knowledgable about the short-term and long-term issues the region faced, and he seemed extremely empathetic for the people there; qualities that differentiate him night and day from Trump.

Better would be an improvement over what we had before.

A stopped up toilet is better than the Chump.

I think I explained my point, it isn't worth quibbling over semantics.

Sorry, a little slow this time. I think change comes slowly. I would like to think improvements would have been made.

"Trump can do it" is a bit of a stretch.

Bernie is hard for me to read. I can't say if he's just biting his tongue or if he is out of touch with anybody who isn't white and from Vermont. His body language sometimes, it seems to me that he's holding back and I don't know what that is. Anger? Uncertainty? He's passionate and a hard worker and knows the workings of Congress inside and out. He'd have easily cleared the low bar set by Trump. This congess would have been hard to get anything done for him.

"he tries to understand"

Does he? How do you know this? What I know is that he completely bungled describing what political correctness is and said that "people are tired of political correctness rhetoric". I don't think African Americans are "tired" of dealing with race issues, one of which is bigoted speech in their face. Bernie is salving the hurt feelz of white people who are made uncomfortable by hearing about serious and real issues raised by Black Lives Matter. Is he pandering to the feelz of the white majority for votes?

It's a judgment call. To my recollection he tries to be considerate most of the time. He is far from perfect, but in general I think he does try to do the right thing. Did he cede the mic to BLM before or after he said that? Maybe he understands political correctness better now, maybe not, or maybe he was pandering and using the term within the context of right-wing rhetoric (see: cheetohmonkey). I think he is willing to learn. The opposite of narcissist fuhrer Trump.

He's passionate AND angry. He fully understands both that improving the economic situation of the lower classes would disproportionately benefit minorities in ways mere lip service to 'equality' is designed to ignore- and that focusing on the lip service is actually the establishment's way of perpetrating the status quo which has been so detrimental to the lower classes (who are mostly minorities, just to pound that point home again).

I'm angry about it, too- even if I'm not a minority or that my income is higher than poverty level. I have enough of a grasp on economics to fully understand just how detrimental to our economy it is to have a permanent underclass that's falling further and further behind- and to have a tiny upper class that can't stimulate the economy in its own because it's too small and focused on accumulating wealth instead of sharing it.

Bernie is deeply angry and frustrated because otherwise intelligent people like you are so willing to be misled about the sources of the problems we face as a country and therefore willfully clueless about their solutions.

It does indeed seep out of his pores every time he speaks. I feel exactly the same way.

Hey, let's talk about how considerate Mrs Clinton would have been!
  • Drone strikes
  • Military interventionism
  • Bring them to heel
  • 1996 omnibus crime bill
  • Pandering to Wall Street
That's just off the top of my head. There's much, much more where that came from.

So @Fogdog let's cut the shit about how Bernie isn't 'considerate' enough, already!

if he booted them.. he would have to just wrap up his campaign and go home the same day..

on a related note

Trump would have had them thrown off the stage and beaten while they were arrested. To a cheering crowd, no doubt.

And yet who's sitting in the White House today? (Cuz Mar a Lago is having a 'not suitable for golf' day)

So maybe it's time to quit trying to poke holes in the truly superior candidate. I don't see anyone who's perfect running for the job...

And if I did, I'm pretty sure he'd be getting crucified, too.

We can't hold them to separate standards. I would say they are both navigating politics and learning in the process. Hillary isn't who she was in the 90s, neither is Bernie.

It boggles the mind how Clinton is held up as an example of fighting the good fight for the African American community.
