It's been my experience as well, though I'll really admit my experience is subjective and based on a limited sample of each.

Were you people even around while this shit was going down? BLM shut Sander's rallies down, initially. Letting them speak was a reaction to the trouble they were causing Sanders not because Sanders wanted them there. You fanboys and fangirls are somewhat delusional.

Even though I've named at least half a dozen females and POC (sometimes both) who I would support in an election against the establishment Democrat, including Nina Turner and Elizabeth Warren

Criticisms for Harris from the left stem from her actions as attorney general in California and not bringing charges towards Steve Mnuchin for his role directing OneWest Bank after the financial crisis. Then, Harris being the sole Democrat to receive a campaign contribution for her senate run in 2016 from Mnuchin. To an idiot, that might seem kind of suspicious. To anyone who follows or understands how American politics works, that's blatant corruption. Harris chose not to prosecute Mnuchin and he financially backed her senate candidacy in return.



Hillary Clinton won the African American vote during the Democratic primary because of name recognition, not because her policies benefit them more than Sanders' policies. In reality, Sanders' policies are objectively better for minorities than the policies Hillary Clinton espouses. So the idea that more black people voted for Clinton than Sanders means more black people support her policies than Sanders' policies is false. It simply means more black people know who Clinton is than know who Sanders is. The reality is that Sanders has a higher approval rating among African Americans, Hispanics and women than white men, and except for women, both of those demographics approval ratings are higher than Clinton's, too.

This is more of an indictment of Sanders' liberal supporters than it is of Sanders. But it makes Sanders into pretty much an ass.

In the United States, white liberals and progressives have historically shown a serious inability to grapple with the realities of the color line and the enduring power of white supremacy. Many of them are either unable or unwilling to understand that fighting against class inequality does not necessarily remedy the specific harms done to African-Americans and other people of color by white racism.

For example, last Friday Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke in Boston at the Our Revolution Rally, where he said this:

"Some people think that the people who voted for Trump are racists and sexists and homophobes and deplorable folks. I don’t agree, because I’ve been there."

Given Sanders’ long history of fighting for human rights, his comments are profoundly disappointing. They also demonstrate the blind spot and willful myopia that too many white liberals and progressives have toward white racism in America.

Sanders’ defense of Donald Trump’s “white working class” voters can be evaluated on empirical grounds. This is not a case of “unknown unknowns.”

Sanders is ... committing another error in reasoning and inference, one that is common among white Americans in the post-civil rights era. Racism and white supremacy are not a function of what is in peoples’ hearts, what they tell you about their beliefs or the intentions behind their words or deeds. In reality, racism and white supremacy are a function of outcomes and structures. Moreover, the “nice people” that Sanders is talking about benefit from white privilege and the other unearned advantages that come from being white in America.
