I think you need to stop looking at hydro shop websites or you'll never have any $ in your pocket, why would you buy a 1 litre bottle of humic acid for $30,same as fulvic ? Omegazyme what's your reason for using it ? Sea Essentials same question. The great White is good but there's better value mycos out there. Spending a lot of money from an online grow shop isn't going to ensure you end up with anything but an empty wallet

I think there is some additives that do work and are worth trying but if you don't know why you are using them or have a baseline to measure how effective they are how can you tell if they work or not ? The best ones I've found are H&G roots excelurator and drip clean,I've tried finding a better root stimulator and I honestly don't think anything comes close to how good this shit is it is expensive but super concentrated 0.1ml per L so it goes a long way and the drip clean if doing top feed run to waste coco is magic before using it I used to water till I got about 10 percent runoff and would still get salt build up sometimes, with drip clean water till i get a touch of run off maybe 1 percent and have never had salt buildup issues.

So even when you think you are on top of your game you still get brought back to earth killing seeds you have germed
Case in point...left the seeds in paper towel till the tap root was definitely to long then placed in soil A: wrong way B: to close to breaking soil not enough depth
So wat happens is the seed casing will not break off when it gets above soil as it hasn't had enough friction on the soil on way up to crack it open
In.some cases you can pull the casing off but then u are either lucky if it works or u have pulled it off to early and the leaves will not even open
I done 7 a week n bit ago and have one confirmed seedling the sharks breath ( thank fuckonly had one of them)
The rest are a couple mm above soil and look like they will rot in the casing before opening
Popped a sour k,white widow and red leicester tease as soon as I realised my mistake.
Pop new ones asap or u will sit there wasting weeks before u realise the duds are fucked.

Lesson for newbs but still a lesson for experienced growers who think they know all like I did in that instance

At the risk of sounding Ike a pronouncement, don't pamper your seeds. Make them work to survive. You are completely correct in your assessment. If they don't make it, you don't want them.
Once growing, give them just enough fan to make them strong enough to not require a screen for support. A little wind goes a long way.
My biggest plants have always been from seeds buried 1cm+ deep and left alone.

Soaking in fresh coconut water in a mug just until the root tip emerges, and then gently placing the seeds root tip UP covering loosely in 1cm of soil is my typical method.

I have plenty more sour kush and really want one of them in my yard again so popped a couple more of them will keep strongest looking seedling...
Red leicester tease from Dr krippling ive popped (farm grow)
Couple white widows (farm)
Pretty sure when I get home today ill pop a couple more green crack and bubba kush as well to make sure if any further murders happen to my seedlings im covered
Wat doesn't get used will have a place to go to in return for an oz a seedling ..no complaints with that

Yep u are exactly right father....this time I pre soaked till tap root was only just showing and placed in soil 1cm depth with the seed placed the right way this time...
It's funny been doing it for years but 2 if my last 4 starts ive had to pop more seeds thru killing them in my eagerness
Lesson learnt ill be right still on target for my Oct 10 start easy

Your post probably saved a plant that broke ground a day or so ago. Been getting smashed all weekend and havent looked in on them. popped my head in and one c99 had dropped its shell but was still stuck in the inner skin and didnt open. One half yellow cotyledon but everything else looks good
