Kosher Tangie & Strawberry Cookies, new to organics journal

This will be my 2nd attempt at organic soil mix growing. I currently have vegging 3 seedling Kosher Tangie by DNA and 3 Strawberry Cookies by Connoisseur Genetics. They're currently about a month old, in 1 gals, in a store bought organic mix cut with perlite and promix...now under a 400w mh. Had a fungas gnat issue that stalled them. They will be going into 10 gallon pot using the Rasta Roy water only recipe. Here is the soil recipe I plan to use:

Base:

15% Coco
35% Perlite
12.5% Worm Castings
18.75% Leaf Compost
18.75% Cow Manure Compost

Amendments:

Neem Cake1/2 cup per cubic foot
Shrimp Meal 1/4 cup per cf
Crab Meal 1/4 cup per cf
Fishbone meal 1/2 cup per cf
Gypsum 1/2 cup per cf
Kelp meal 1/2 cup per cf
Alfalfa meal 1/4 cup per cf
Langbeinite 1/4 cup per cf
Oyster Shell 1/4 cup per cf

....back later with pics

Seems like you`re off to a good start, don`t forget to cook it! I`ve seen so many ppl put in so much work only to leave out the most important step.. letting it ferment and break down..

Moisture and heat for a few weeks makes a huge difference

-Also, i read in your other posts that you were having problems with fungus knats.. so id rethink the cow manure especially if you`re doing it indoors. Perhaps more peat/coco or something less hardcore like rabbit poop if you can get it..

This is Rasta Roy's recipe and it is designed to not be cooked...

Didn't know that bout cow manure, maybe replace with leaf compost?

i might just start getting stuff from here now that i know what i need.. no more need to go to the stores and bug them lol

not a lot of stores carry crustacean meals for that matter.. and its good to know they have EVERYTHING.. except green sand.. didnt see that there

I love them because they have virtually everything, it's very well priced, and you don't have to buy everything in 5lb boxes.
I can't speak to the quality since I'm just starting out, and I only bought a few things there, but wish I found them first. I went there to pick up so I don't know about delivery. Most of my amendments are Down to Earth brand, which I bought before I found Black Swallow.

Hello ****,
I can sell 5lbs of the oyster not a problem. It will be $15 plus tax.
Our soil mix is made of 1/3 airation (rice hulls), 1/3 peat, 1/3 humic (cow, leaf, fish compost, and worm castings), rock dust, oyster, crab, and kelp.
I am sorry I haven't sent your sales order but I had a appointment and had to leave the office early. I will get it off to you in the morning.

Sorry for the delay
Regards
Nathan"

I wish I found this guy before I got a huge bale of Promix HP/CC when it was on sale at my local store :/. His mix is exactly what I'm looking for.. I like how he replaces the perlite with rice hulls instead. Already a 1:3 ratio on the things stuff I want. Maybe just add a bit extra:

Neem Cake 1/2 cup per cubic foot
Shrimp Meal 1/4 cup per cf
Crab Meal 1/4 cup per cf
Kelp meal 1/4 cup per cf
Alfalfa meal 1/4 cup per cf
Oyster Shell 1/4 cup per cf

I'm definitely going to be checking this guy out in the near future when I start messing around with organics... His prices are in Canadian.

Topped these down low tonight. It was pretty painful to cut off their tops, which amounted to a good portion of the plant, but I really want to learn how to mainline plants...so this will be my first attempt. I realize I still need to remove the bottom set of leaves, just didn't want to shock them too much at once, maybe tomorrow night.IMG_4531.JPG IMG_4529.JPG

I guess cutting them down so much means they won't be ready for their final mix in 10 gals anytime soon. I'll probably reduce the compost in the base mix to 1/3, maybe cut out the cow manure, so it's a little less hot.

You wanna add those ammendments to their soil mix or to the Promix you bought? I think their soil mix is designed to be used with teas.

At this point I'm kinda regretting the mainlining attempt, feel like I've gone backwards too much. These pics are from a week ago, did the 2nd topping exactly 8 days after the initial topping.

You're topping too early. Wait fot the 6th node to grow before initial topping. Topping too early will slow growth tremendously.

Read nugbuckets mainline thread. He's the one that created main lining
