Any of you win 1st place at the same cup event for both indica and sativa?

I've been disappointed with a lot of the grower channels recently. They start out with their balls on fire, talking about growing, breeding, harvesting, goint to market, etc, and then they become full of themselves and decide to monetize. Some don't even talk about growing anymore, just products.

Then they become sham-wow shows, selling whatever snake oil a sponsor spots them for. The grow tube roundtable has become the worst, but it was one of the best. Now its a scripted infomercial.

Hash church remains solid, but very much on the technical side.

GML is good, but it has become repetitive. There are only so many ways he can explain his flushing technique. ;)

I still like subcools show, it's always fresh. And tricky-d's lab is still good. He mixes up the guests and goes deep.

Maybe we need a thread to critique these shows.

I liked GML show, but the mouse clicking constantly is dam annoying. Its just CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK, especially if you wear earbuds man, its painfull, lol.. and i think alot of time is wasted with stupid question picking from chat, that have nothing to do with current show, or simply can find answers to by watching dedicated videos from GLM himself.

There is a handfull of good dudes making vids tho, but the group shows, yeah, im pretty much not into them anymore either.

No, you don't but still, that is a very good achievement if you consider the number of entrants to the cups these days.

everyone and their dog are doing uninspired live shows these days, there are less and less good edited videos with actual content :(
I agree and I think GML does both. He has a live show once a week to actually talk to his fans. He also does edited videos in the form of seasons. So a little of both worlds. I don't think you can make everyone happy all the time for sure.

GML doesn't come off with a cocky attitude like he's pleasing his "Fans"
The fact that he takes stupid questions on the fly from chat also shows that he isn't just a pre-scripted one sided promoter.
You have to take the most simple and what seems stupidly newbie questions over and over. The audience is constantly changing and new growers and watchers coming in. Those who think they are master growers will move on no matter what.
Gotta keep bringing new people in and stay accessible to everyone.
Just like @Stephenj37826 being on the show and taking all of the baited questions thrown out him.
Shows he is a "regular" guy and earning the respect from the community.
I bet many other led Companies are wishing they had stepped up and put up a light if they truly had something up to "par" to run with the big dawgs @Greengenes707 @Rahz @CobKits @Growmau5 @RainDan

I bet HLG Sales are Booming!

i find the shows interesting..they all work hard to entertain..and do it with a good vibe..it takes work..
i would say if someone wants "better" shows then diy
the grower guy sure is into it...
you come across good stephen..
all the best

these were released more frequently before he did the live shows though...
I think it has more to do with his schedule right now and also his main channel is suspended temperately as someone reported it. Life gets hectic and guys like GML Growmau5 GG Tricky D Crazy Diago and the rest are doing this mostly for the viewers. Our sells have been going up for a while. I'm pretty sure it helps GGs and others sales some (which is great). Honestly the time some of these guys put in is a lot more than meets the eye. I admire that. Just think KIND doesn't do this kind of stuff and they probably outsell us all lol.

First let me point out that i did not watch the whole video.

Im wondering about the opening shots in this video. We see some one breaking apart some sticky looking flower. Is that supposed to indicate the amazing strain and grow skills? Or does the author of video discuss the opening shots and a pest issue later in the video.

I reecently dealt with some microscopic larvae type critters that create exactly what we see in the opeing shots. Initially it looks like amzing rich oils from ruptured tricome heads. Under a microscope it becomes clear that the flower is contaminated with some sort of "webbing". I cant tell if its actual webbing or some sort of honeydew being secreted by the critters. They barely affect the growth of the plant, as long as they dont establish themselves early during flower. The plants looks great during flower but the issues become apparent after harvest.

Anyhow i will post some pics in a couple days. I hope the author of video does not take offence. Just trying to figure out this stuff.

Yo! You should check out GML' channel. He's an awesome no nonsense grower.
I really cant see him having said pest issue. Hope you get to the bottom of yours, sounds nasty! :leaf:

i'm just saying i'd rather watch a condensed, good edited 15min video instead of a 2h live show with no clear agenda. but i accept that this is something a lot of ppl are into now and its much easier to produce...

I will check out his channel when i get a chance. Im sure hes a fine grower. Im just surprised no one else has questioned the bud from that opening shot. It just doent quite make sense. Maybe its just me.

Here are few pics of what i observed. There was one fly observed during this grow. No other visible critters. No spider mites!

This is a picture of a piece i submerged in water for a couple hours. The amber coloring appeared after submerging.

In this pic you can kind of see that the "webbing" is resting on top of the trichome heads. Sample from a live plant.

In this picture you can see this substance beginning to encompass each calyx. With a vigourous flowering plant, calyxs will continue to stack, creating what looks like webbing inside the buds.

Next few are from dried flowers.

These were from a live plant.

We've seen his vids ;) he does love a macro, think he even mentioned a full on pro scope for checking his trichs.

Man, your pics clearly show something weird! ive no idea what that is...i'd quite like to know, though! Have you asked around much?
