I don’t have the chemicals ATM to follow it though to the end, but before it get to much $$$ into this project I figured I’d do the first few steps to get some data.

Step one , gather up the supplies .
Step two , put it together a couple times , work out a procedure for setup n tear down.
Step three , do a trial run , with organic materials n alcohol, test & check temps , times, pressures
Step four , real run
Step five , run the numbers n see if I just wasted a lot of time & $$$ and am the new owner of a lot of SS pots n bowls etc enough to make some chiefs jelly.

Using the medium one first before I use the big boy (double the size)

Used a 35lbs weight to make a better seal n to displace water so less ice is needed

Using a 14” bike tube,
Next time I’ll use a 10” for this unit, I just don’t have one on hand .

Went through the refluxing, n soxheleting
And started to remove the solvent....
When I figured I should be close to 80%
I took it apart to find I only caught about
20% .... then some stuff came up, put the solvent in dark storage, I’m going to play with it more tomorrow.

But I think the way to go is, do a cold fast wash, get the top end , then do the steps in the book to remove the rest .

I’m on days off this week, so I’ll be working at it, I got a 1/2p of trim , and a p of bud to run .
(Bud has been donated for science , it’s not any good, we are using it because another person and I have washed it before and have data to go off of to see how this system performs)

The rope mentioned in the book, should be boiled a few times before setting up
It’s gross.

Going to fire it up soon & run the bud

It’s pretty small. I just washed a p i think the max you’d fit into the flower tower or isolator is about an OZ

I never seen that one ,
It would probably be a lot easier to use then my homemade job.

There was a lot of fines that passed though the coffee filter, did it twice too.
But I bet there will be about 20% return
Vs QWISO that yielded 5%
