It should have these drawstrings that you can tighten over your ducting. I run the filter in the tent and the fan out of the tent with 4 inch ducting. We probably have the same tent so it will be no problem
Can someone look over the components for my grow set up?

I received my variac transformer I got the 500VA one running a 100 watt fan. The fan was not what was loud it was that cheap fan controller. The variac transformer is massive but it is amazing how quiet things got. I can also barely run it if that is what it takes. I have it running at around 15% and it is whisper quiet and works great. And now it is probably only using 20 watts or so. So 200 plus 20 plus 50 for clip fans is 270 total watts (2.25 AMP total draw for the tent).
The Variac transformer is worth it imho. It cost 100 bucks on ebay so it wasnt terribly expensive and i bet my fan will last longer because of it. So will the filter.

When your filter goes out you can upgrade to an 8 inch filter. It will last years and filter smell better.I ended up deciding to go ahead and return the 6" and go with the 4" Vivosun fan/filter combo instead - seems that it will be sufficient based on what everyone is saying. Everyone's input has been very much appreciated! THANK YOU

Hey you have seen my grow , with the mainline plants under the cobs,,, called back to my rootsAnd *of course* I just dropped the 6” system back off at UPS to go back
here is the buisness end of my 2x4 grow cab,,,, i use a 6" can fan and a big 6" carbon filter,, and behind that you can see my variac speed controller,,, also many of us wash and oven bake our carbon and re use it
when you use a Large Oversize fan, we can use the variac control to dial the speed of the fan down, and then the "wind noise" that jet sound goes away, your moving allot of air but in near silence

Well folks, hubby and I got it all set up. Look right? (The light LOOKS crooked because of the angle of the camera - its level!)
Now, I’ve got the fan on low and the lights (both veg and bloom) on 100% power so I can gauge the temp in the tent. After an hour, the temp was around 80 degrees. How do you cool the tent DOWN?
Should the lights be at 100% power for their respective beg and bloom cycles (its the MaxBloom high yield 400W X4 Plus).
Now, I’ve got the fan on low and the lights (both veg and bloom) on 100% power so I can gauge the temp in the tent. After an hour, the temp was around 80 degrees. How do you cool the tent DOWN?

You cool the tent down with airflow. Turn your fan up. But 80 degrees is max? that is very workable so do not stress about it. 85 and up it can get trickier but I think you are ok.

I remember setting my first tent up in my room. Wife loves white noise. I do not. I tore it all down 2 weeks later and put it in the spare bedroom. Constant air pump hum and fan noise does not do well for the already limited amount of sleep I get.

First stop in all in all I feel that setup will get you some good smoke. An active intake from your room would cool it a bit but again if top is 80 you're not doing to bad welcome to riu theres a wealth of great knowledge here happy growing

The fan I got does have a 3-way adjustable speed. Today’s ambient temp in the tent only got to 77 so I’m happy with that!
