lol, ok so that is funny! I take it you found that on the UFO web site la9. All I can say is when I switched from cfl to my 1000w, even with its used bulb, it made a 200% change in my plants! I've just been interested to se how this grow goes for him, and he should be getting his 150w hps's in like 4 days I think he said. I just hope he puts them up NOW, and doesn't wait to bloom! He can still get those plants to fill out, and stop stretching there young

Yep I hope he does too, stretching isn't good in veg, no support for the flowers at the later stage of the grow.

Ya, my last grow, I didn't have my hps yet, had to veg under 4 70 wat floro tubes, and a couple cfls. They deffinatly stretched a bit, when I bloomed them under the hps though, they didn't bother doubling in height, but god did they bush out!!

I don't know why no one has picked up a piece of sheet metal and made a U shape for a reflector on that light. That would help direct the light better.

I am new to the site and still trying to take it all in. Thanks for the info. That is funny you said that about the reflector me and a buddy where talking about that the other day. I said u could use roof flashing from the home stores for the metal on it,it is all ready bent to shape for the most part. Just cut it and mount it the right way.

Yep, The aluminum roof flashing does a good job also if you can afford it nowadays.

if i wanted to put one light under the ufo it would look like that at day 16 but too bad i have ten plants under the light nice try tho

They are looking good and healthy man. Honestly hey look identical to the ones I grew under 4 floro tubes! You got 3 days till your hps comes right? Are you going to hang them up? Have you figured out the ventalation? If you do hang them, you'll see a differance in howthey grow with in 2 weeks gaurenteed, maybe within one! The pics look good nice camera.

all started at different times but the oldest i would say is a month...for the light set up i have been thinking alot and im still not sure what to do..the hps come on monday but my brother who has a UFO in his closet also over some bubbleponics is thinking about dropping all and going off to the army..if that happens im gona swipe the light and stick 2 UFOs in the one closet and really c if these lights can do what they say they can...also if ive been thinking that if i add the hps lights i loose out on the experiment of using the UFO for flowering and proving whether the UFO really does suck or can compete with the other lights going around...and for ventilation i havent looked into it any suggestions??:bigjoint:

hmm, maybe if you took just 1 or 2 plants and flowered them under the 2 ufo's.
youd still be completing the experiment and youll be guaranteed some bud with the hps'

Yeah i saw that test with the two on youtube, and it turned out shit, ik. But with LED, i think the secret lighes in captureing what it has. I Mean take cfls, its been tested that no matter how many 26 watt cfls at 1700 lumens or whatever, your only going to be putting off 1700 lumens. So you need to get them right on the plant, soo i wonder if led bulbs are the same, and in order to capture the true potential, youll need to get your plants as close as possible, i see an inch to 2 being ideal, as with cfls.

Cant you Get away with NOISE?

Edit: Oh and btw, there lookin good, a bit stretch, but they may be sativa dominat.. a couple look good and bushy, so that must be it. How far away do you have it, and do you know the strains??

What kind of reflectors did you get for the hps standard, or are they air cooled? If its just a standard reflector, your best bet will be to set up a decent exhaust fan (prolly with a carbon filter) and vent the heat out ofthe closet al together. If it is air cooled, you will mostly have to just run a fan and vent on the light itself. Keep an eye on the temps, the plants will grow alot slower if it gets to hot!
I hear you on the experiment with the UFO, and if you get another thats kool. Just from looking at the plants now, and looking at what an hps can do, I think in the end you would be happier that you bailed on the experiment, and ended up doubleing your yield from what it currently would be!
