What is the white stuff on the lower part of clones??

How did it get there in the first place?? Was my rez bucket not clean enough?? Can I still get roots with this??

You're going to need pictures! Or at least thoroughly explain what you're doing and your conditions. Nutes or No? Ro or Tap? Humidity? Temperature?

I had no idea you are in hydro. I can not give any advice as I still have zero clue what your problem is.

Rereading your OP I really think it could just be root nubs. But again, just a shot in the dark.

Does it look like this?

No that's not it, it almost looks like a foamy substance. Its only on a small part exposed to the water. I'm using a cloning nute, temp is 75 and the humidity is 65-70%.. I can wipe the foamy stuff away and it comes back.

Most times "froth" will appear when your water needed to be changed and has gotten skunky. The bubbler makes it froth up on the top of the water leaving a ring of it on your cuts. 75* is a bit warm for hydroponics. If you have a big ass hot air pump connected to your bubbler stone, you are adding that heat and warming your water.

Yeah it looks like a froth.. The water is only prob 6 days old. I use those neoprene things to stick the stem in... Can I still get roots with this froth?? Thanks HydroRed you hit it on the head I think... I am an advanced hydro guy, but have lots of problems with clones not rooting in my dewey mister.. My clones probably only root around 30% of the time.

Yup looks like white foam on the stem getting the water from the bubbler.. What can I do about it??
I don't know what it is either but I've seen it too, it's like a white foam ring where the stem meets whatever is holding it & eventually that clone just comes apart where the white stuff is, and dies

I never saw this foam until I started having problems with clones, for a time I suspected it was the problem but I've made other corrective measures and it's gone away and now my cloning is back near a hundred percent

Bleach, plain old liquid bleach. Six drops per gallon of water after about every four or five days, I hit near 100% success now. For clones you just have to add it once, 4 days in, typically. You may want to pH down a bit after, but I don’t bother when it comes to cloning.

Sound crazy? Try it.

I run it in my dripper reservoirs too.

I just put in dutchmaster zone, isn't this like bleach?? What should I do now since I added the dutchmaster zone?? Ive had some of the best strains known to man and great yielders also and can't keep them going because of not being able to get roots on my clones.

I tried the bleach too, can't say it helped or hurt but my clone rooting problem went away as soon as I went back to 6 hours of darkness. Now everything is back to rooting near 100%

I know what you mean OP, I lost strains that I was running for years when I went to 24/7 hours of light last fall to try to keep the heat in, as soon as I went back to 18/6 that very tray rooted, so for me that was my answer, hope this helps
-good luck!:leaf:

i always use town water for cloning...i get about 95-98% success rate....the key to cloning is sterilize everything, then i resterilize my scissors and razor blade every 5 clones, rewipe the work area with alcohol....its so important

I use to always go 24/0 for clones and prob 2 months ago when 20/4 for my lights, seems to make no difference so far.

I never do anything like that.
I use old dirty scissors, I don’t wash my hands, nothing.
I clip it, trim it, dredge the end through some clonex gel and jam it into rockwool. I use an rdwc cloner I invented, because it is as fast as an aerocloner, but cloning with any method is easy. I have had okay success rates jamming them straight into FFOF in a seedling tray with a humidity dome. Lol, not important, turns out.
I don’t give them any light, really, just ambient lights in the room.

Roots in five days flat, then they get some intentional light.

Like I said I added the dutchmaster zone 10 mins ago, should I put bleach in too??? Also once you get that substance is it too late for the clones or can they still root??
