First Grow Closet

Hey guys,

This is my first time to grow in a closet/indoors and was wondering what you all thought. (pics enclosed)

Light- 4 CFL's 26 watt, 6500k 1600 Lumens per bulb. (Grow area is about 3x3x8 )
Soil- 100% Organic 15% earthworm casting (Plan on germinating and growing in the soil until the plants reach about 6 inches.
Nutes- SUPERthrive
Water- PH 6.1
Strain- 10 Fem White Widow (not yet planted)

The thing I'm most nervous about is the lighting. Will this be enough, at least to get started? Anyways, if there is anything you would change, let me know!

you have a 3x3 space big enough to hold a hid..do you want to grow with cfls????you can fit a 400,250,150 in there with no prolem..the amount of lighting you need for all those seeds cfls wont be able to provide with out using as much electricity as an hid.

Yeah, I want to grow with CFL's should I buy more? get more wattage? HOw many more bulbs should I get?

PS: Ventilation is fine.

As many as you can fit in there.

Check out the links i posted in an above post, its got some cool reflectors you can make, just make it bigger for more CFLS.

with that many plants i dont think cfls are the right light for the job unless you get a lot more lights.the more light the better. the best next to that maybe get a short 2' x 3' fixture with 6 flourecent tubes hanging really close but you dont want to change lights when it flowers because you would have to get more lights. but to save money in the long run you can just get the HPS light now.. and you could easily do it with a 150-250 watt so the area doesnt heat up and it uses less power.. just but a 2 foot fan pointed at the closet and you would have plenty of air circulation and the temp wouldnt be too bad. look at flood lights at lowes or online for on already ballasted.

try to get the 125 watt cfls if you can..If not 42 watt bulbs would do fine,about 2-4 eah plant..to cover that area is up to you because i really dont use that many cfls in a space that big...

you're gonna need quite a few cfls...i was gonna grow with cfls when i first started learning about growing...i figured it would be cheaper that way...but i managed to spend like...60 bucks at wal mart...and i still wouldnt have had enough lights for a decent quality yield, so i took them all back and bought a diy 400w hps ballast kit and a 400w hps bulb on ebay...the ballast kit and the bulb cost me 80 bucks.
