First grow looking for advice

Another thought is if I top it should just top the main stem or also the other branches too?

To much wind I seen cause my plants to do this too, but I don’t see any fans. Is she still like this? if you were to top I would just top the main one so the rest can catch up. If you are already started 12/12 I wouldn’t do much or any topping at all. I would either bend the main one back or get a net and spread them out. Just so you get a better yield.

I got this plant from a co-worker so I don't know very much about it and i want to know what I need to be doing at this point. I've switched the light schedule to 12/12 and it's about 4 1/2 months old. Im using a 300w dual spectrum led and some organic soil with worm castings from home Depot (I know it's probably not the best, suggestions for my next plant?) Its in a 4x4x2 mylar tent. Thank you for any feedback I appreciate it. Got some nitrogen toxicity going on, back off the nutes a bit.
I'm guessing you have 4 ft height for your tent? If so I would 'super crop' that main top. YouTube "How to super crop"
Good luck :peace:

Yes 4 feet. Thank you for the feedback. If I'm not using nutes how can I lower the n of the soil

Is it supposed to droop like this? I turned the light off at 7, I was thinking that it might just be doing that because the lights off but I just wanna make sure it's nothing to worry about

Bro you said tap water????? No that’s why it probably has too much sodium chloride in it. Well you do let it sit. Then do you check ph?

The droop could just be if lights are off. If you’re in flowering stage I couldn’t give it any extra light you don’t want a he/she. But I would get a water system that takes out sodium chloride and start checking your pH that’s probably why the end your leafs are curling like that

Thank you that makes sense. What kind of soil/nutrients should I be looking for for my next grow? Also I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself but about how much longer am I looking at before harvest? Any and all feedback is appreciated

no I don't , that has to be my problem what should the pH be at? I understand it should be controlled I just haven't went out and gotten what I need to keep it controlled. I am planning on planting another one soon and am using this one to learn what to avoid/ what to work on

Am I supposed to be using like distilled water? Or purified water?
I like source water to be under 150 ppm's (parts per million), some tap runs crystal clear and some are upwards of 500ppm. You'll have to buy a tds meter to know what your ppm's are, they're cheap. What I did for a while was used 18 cup water purifiers that you would keep in your fridge for drinking water. Try to keep your ph about 6.2, you'll need to buy a ph meter, they're cheap.

Over time from giving plain waterings your nutrients within the soil will diminish, and the plant will likely use/require more nutrients as it gets bigger. So there's not much you can do except wait. Your plant isn't dying so you wouldn't want to flush it.

Don't top if you've already started 12/12. I would give atleast one week recovery after topping before I even flip otherwise you're hurting your yield.

Very important that you don't disturb the dark cycle during flower or the plant will hermie(some will herm right away, some arent as finicky and take more to make herm) and be junk.

You can expect anywhere from about 8 to 11 weeks flower for harvest.

Look for a grow bible, those will help you a lot, the cultivation of cannbis can get pretty complex.

Also, how much room do you have left before that plant grows within 12" of the light when the lights hung as high as you can get it?

Read around other people's threads in newbie central too, that'll help ya.

You need to either bend that plant sideways and tie it down to buy you more room or gently squeeze and bend the main stalk about 2/3 the way up the plant until you feel it pop and it can no longer hold itself up straight. That's called super cropping. A good rule of thumb is that a plant will double in size from from the day you flip it to when it's harvested.

these growers do have good advice but most the advice is them taking a stab in the dark and so is my comment so take it with a grain of salt. look you are giving her to much water and not letting her dry out enough thats why the tips of the leaves are dropping down. you are growing in potting soil that most likely has water retaining stuff in there also allot of fertilizer give her water ever 2/3 day with a ph of 6.2/6.4 since you are using potting soil you don't need ph lower then 6.2. dont giver her any nutrients but if she is yellowing give half strength veg nutrients nothing that wrong with tap water it will work. i use it and yes it does make a few problems but it wont kill the plant. never use distilled water. look up how to lst your plant. at this point of your grow i wouldn't go topping should of done that like 3 weeks ago but watch some videos on lst , topping and scrog and the next grow try do it . something i learnt the other day is grow your plant bushy then put it in the scrog net. do not put up your scrog net and let the plant grow under it/through it you can do that but its supper annoying been there done that better to put scrog net up after and spread plant out then let the tops grow up for a week then flip to flower.best advice i could give as a nood grower is don't expect your 1st several crops to be any good until you learn to the basics or you'll just get disappointed and give up

So then tomorrow I'm going to either super crop it or try to bend it and see where that goes. Ill see what I can do about my water situation until I can get bills paid and have extra cash. I'm not giving up either! I know it's gonna take some time to get it right, I'm just trying to get it right the second or third time instead of the tenth thanks for the help

I would go atleast a digital ph but a tbs meter too. I keep my ph around 6.3. If you haven’t been checking your ph then that’s the problem. Go to amazon or local hydro store, search for ph up and down solution, get a ph meter. And start adjusting the ph of your water. I don’t use distilled or purified water, I use tap water with a filter hooked up that only that’s out the sodium. Because we have one of the best tap water here in the states. If you use distilled water or purified water you would have to add calcium to it because that takes everything out water.

Now when did you switch to 12/12? The plant will stretch for atleast the next 4 weeks once you flip. if you don’t have room for a stretch you need to start tying them down very soon then.

Ya I understand, but don’t worry to much about what kind of water just worry about checking the PH and either lowering it or raising it. My PH that comes out of my filter is 7.0 so I have to use Ph down every time if I use Just plain water

It's been almost 3 weeks, and she's getting pretty big for the tent. I'm gonna try to do something tomorrow without doing too much damage and I gotcha. I'm new to my area so I have to find a store like that near me, also a place to get more seeds! I'll post a picture of my try at tying it down after work tomorrow
