The Nazis won in their own country.

They are doing quite well in the US nowadays too.

Keeping them from winning here is going to require people who oppose fascists to get out, get in their faces and risk bodily injury. All the while using every lever we have to stop them. Including the courts and our vote. It's obvious they have the police on their side and are gaining control of the courts. They have to be stopped beginning this November. It might be too late if they keep power through 2020.

Excess violence plays into the hands of an authoritarian government bent on suppressing the rights of the citizens. They don't care who's who, they'll use any violence as an excuse.

By way of specific example, it's been proven that on several occasions police forces actually sent undercover officers in black outfits to smash windows and overturn police cars so they could then point to the 'violence' (they caused) and clamp down on protests against the WTO. It happened in Seattle and in Denver and other cities as well.

If that looks like police acting fascist, I'd have to agree with you. It's time for citizen oversight boards of police to have real teeth to keep them under civilian control. The temptation to militarize and use fascist tactics to gain authoritarian control over citizens in the name of 'order' can be too great otherwise. If you don't believe me, just Google the leaders of FOP organisations across the country, they're a pretty sick bunch;
