Overwintering a Mother Plant

Started an outdoor grow. 2 White Widow xtreme and 2 Amnesia Haze.

Come the fall I'd rather not go to the expense of a tent and full setup.

My thought was why not just clone each plant and keep a couple of mother plants inside till next spring at which time I will clone and plant outside again.

What is the best way to keep a healthy mother that does not grow huge?

Prune at the top? Light; 18:6 or is 24:0 required?

More concerned about the size of the Haze (sativa) . Just don't want to wind up with a 6 foot tree in the living room !!

Come to think of it I will only be able to mother the Haze as the WW is an auto.

They'll get big fast. Might as well get proper equipment and do a grow over the winter indoors

I did it last winter. It's a pain. Cooler temps, lower light to keep it from growing tall. Think moisture problems and what they bring. The mother made it but fell to leaf septoria right at chop a couple of weeks ago. This year I got a tent.
