That guy said he was born in 1812 so he was probably too young to witness the British Army's retreat from the States.
Ya I’ll give you the date thing but like tty you leave out critical points but mostly do you blame us for getting our ass out lol. We burnt your capital of which was abandoned, we stole your prize ship, we were also in the midst of a war with the French so pretty extended at the time lol. Oh and the reason you declared war was trade and boundaries. Holy crap it’s happening again :o

No hard feelings, it was just a white house after all. Would you do us the favor again if you decide to attack us? I'd like a little advance warning so we can save some of the furniture.

Can't say the war of 1812 was good for nothing. We got a National Anthem that is so bad it annoys other nations whenever it's played at the Olympics.

Attack us again and I'll see to it that Canada has to listen to a worse anthem when we claim the gold medals that are rightfully ours.

I love your anthem ;). So yup there’s that :). I love your country (even if they won’t let me back :(. ), I think your POTUS is an idiot though.

I do occasionally wonder how the world would have been different if Patton turned east at Berlin and did what had to be done to wipe out the Stalinists.
And broken the pact? Very trump like. U.S vs the original allies? In that day and age I don't think it would of ended well. You would not have had a harbour or airfield in Europe from which to supply from. May of changed the South Pacific as we see it today as you would of had to use your Pacific fleet to try to take and defend a supply base in Europe. That or tried to invade Australia for a bigger foothold and to try to drain forces from Europe. Either way the logistics of fighting those two wars at either end of the world may of been to much, especially with Canada at your doorstep. Which could of pushed over the boarder at any time.

Patton would have had Russia in front and behind him (remember Russia was first into berlin) and Paton would of ground to a frozen halt come winter. Russian troops would be given amble time to come from the japan offensive (Russia was about to invade Japan just before the bombs were dropped. May well be the REASON the bombs were dropped and was probably the reason Japan surrendered to the US. Surrendering to the Russians would not of ended well for them.)

Its a lovely excise in "what would of happened" but I don't think it would of ended well for America at all.
What happen because of the war and after the war was a much better outcome for America.

The problem the world now has is that America became to powerful and projected itself through out the globe. Influencing govts and trade in a way never seen before due to the shrinking world and advancement in technology. Which would not be so bad if it lent itself to listening and being more introspective in regard to the United Nations and other foreign governments who have a different take on type of government.
Wielding a big stick only works for so long.

The scenario started with the Nazis beating the Russians, leaving the Americans little choice but to go after them into their homeland.

But yes, no empire lasts forever.

Then it wouldn't of been just the Americans going after the Germans then would it? Sometimes you yanks forget that others were fighting them for years before you unwillingly joined in.

The evidence of an eventual military take over is no where to be found, which I believe was the point of the thread. Well at least I’m not seeing it :(.
but you're good with the future plans that went public on internment camps that holds 10's of thousands in 'austere' conditions?

totally GOOGLE-able btw..there's even a thread here.

citing other information to support current topic, happens.

during WW2, the Nazi's not only rounded up the Jews, they imprisoned the average working joe, too.
Again stay in topic. We’re talking about the army cutting ties with non citizens for apparently a faulty vetting process, all 40 of them. No arrests, no internment, just a cancelled contract. Not much proof of a conspiracy IMO. Also the changing topic was directed at tty.

Plans for interment camps to house an influx of immigrants. How does a plan to handle a possible wave of immigrants correlate with a police state? It’s a plan btw to deal with a possible immigration problem that may or may not happen. Again stay on topic.

Maybe.

I get that this isn't a wholesale purge of military middle management. YET.

My point is that it sets a disturbing precedent that can be used to justify more extreme behavior later.

Much like how the RICO Act was implemented, at first it want enforced. Years later, a few precedent setting cases. Now, it's an all but unquestioned abuse of Americans right to protection from search and seizure without due process.

This thread is about yet another instance of a very disturbing beginning.

As usual, the self appointed liberal trolls here have missed the point completely- but when it comes up again, they'll scream loudly as if it was their idea all along. They'll even deny I mentioned it first.

It's happened before.

Plans for internment camps to house asylum seekers in detention, directly against applicable Federal law and human rights conventions.

The actual ripping of babies away from their mothers for the horrible 'crime' of fleeing from (usually American backed) violence and oppression in their own countries.

If that doesn't suffice, I'm not sure how much more evidence of a extant police state would be enough for you.
