I once saw a guy pull his entire thumb nail off with a pair of pliers to get a splinter out. Worse bit was he just looked at me smiling while he did it...

For most splinters & metal slivers (I do a lot of machining) I just use fingernail clippers & take a hunk of skin out with it.

That works every time even if you can't see the sliver.

I work pt at a nursery and am always getting cactus spines, some are so hard to see but I carry sewing needles for that very reason.
I've tried duct tape, glue and wax. Not as much success.

What's the longest you've ever had a splinter? I've had them for months. They just get calloused and shit. Unless they get all pussey and the puss pushes the splinter right out .

Had a piece of metal in my hand back a few years ago and used one of those 25lb neodymium magnets to pull it out it sucked to say the least.
