Backdraft damper or active intake

I was going to use a 12x30 opening in the grow room ceiling as a passive intake. I want to control smell as best as possible so I wanted to find a backdraft damper that would work but can’t find one that will work with the airflow direction. I will be running an air scrubber so could I get away without a damper? My other option is to run another 8” inline fan and another backdraft damper for an active intake. I will be using co2 so I thought I should have a backdraft damper. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

There's no backdraft damper that's going to stop odor. If odor control is the main issue I suggest dual carbon filters inline. With a booster fan between canisters.

I want to run co2 and I have heard about hybrid setups with an active intake and exhaust that runs 24/7 at a very small cfm. I’m running a 10” exhaust with charcoal filter. Do you think I could run an 8” with charcoal filter at a lower cfm then the exhaust to maintain A negative pressure 24/7. That way I don’t need a room scrubber and there is still no odor?

I'm not experienced enough on that subject to give an educated answer.
